With today’s launch of Update 59 in Shroud of the Avatar, players will be able to check out a number of big improvements and the overhauled new player experience. It is, according to Starr Long, the update “in which we focused on the current iteration of our Top 10 Priorities” and one where the dev team made significant progress. The update is slated to go live at approximately 8:30 am Pacific / 11:30 am Eastern. New User Experience Revamp: For Release 59, we have revamped and improved the New User Experience by separating the tutorials from the story spaces in the three starting areas (Battle of Solace Bridge, Battle of Highvale, and Blood River Massacre). We have also built a new focused tutorial space in the Isle of Storms that walks you through the game basics in a gated fashion (i.e. you cannot advance to the next room until you prove you can swing a sword). Another change is that choosing your story path is now independent of your starting decks! Other components of Update 59 include: Fishing Phase 2 QoL improvements bug fixes performance improvements Pumpkin Head & “Nearby Power” seasonal events Check out the full update notes on the Shroud of the Avatar site.
