0 I’m having a really, really good play-through of Stardew Valley right now. I’ve only ever seriously played through once, but that was immediately after it originally launched on PC. Right now this play-through is on the Switch, and I’m playing 100% exclusively with my wife. Together we sit on the couch with the Switch docked so it’s on our tv, and she holds an iPad and looks up all the great little details on the wiki that she and/or I want to know (we determine how much we want to spoil) while I control our joint character. We’re halfway through Winter in our first year, and I think we’re making really good progress! We’ve actually managed to finish the entire craft room in the Community Center, and made headway into nearly completing several others. Right now the biggest thing holding us back is actually getting to the desert. My first personal play-through I never felt this progressed or wealthy. We only had maybe 4-5 3×3 crop … [Read more...] about What are You Playing this Weekend? I’m Going Crop Crazy!
In a series of now deleted Tweets, Electronic Arts programmer David Crooks had some rather blunt commentary regarding the death of game critic John Bain, better known by his handle TotalBiscuit. Bain passed away at the age of 33 this week after a struggle with bowel cancer, which did not stop Crooks from posting his thoughts just a few hours after the news broke that the “world just felt a little bit better.” Crooks went on a tirade concluding with “good riddance to bad rubbish.” While David Crooks’ Twitter has since gone into protected mode and he has seemingly removed references to his employment at Bioware, he wasn’t fast enough to stop the Tweets from being permanently archived via the link below. Crooks list of work includes Mass Effect: Andromeda and Star Wars: Battlefront II. Neither Electronic Arts nor Bioware have commented on the controversy, and MMO Fallout has not reached out for comment. Play EVE Online for freeThe Triglavians are coming! The Triglavians are coming! OK, we’ll admit that that catchphrase needs some work, but nevertheless, EVE Online players should get excited about this precursor faction that considerately left much of its technology and ships behind in Abyssal Deadspace. Abyssal Deadspace are dangerous, time-limited solo instances that EVE players will be exploring when the Into the Abyss expansion arrives on May 29th. CCP showed off a trio of Triglavian ships that players can discover or build for their own, including the Damavik Frigate, the Vedmak Cruiser, and the Leshak Battleship. “We expect Triglavian ships to be especially powerful in environments where targets go down slowly,” CCP said. “This includes small gang, factional warfare, and especially wormhole engagements. We also expect to be surprised with player innovation, as always, and to make sure those surprises don’t get out of hand, we’ve already set … [Read more...] about EVE Online’s newest ships look like cel-shaded beauties
Last December we reported on Tyler Barriss, a 25 year old who goes by the handle “Swautistic,” who was arrested after admitting that he called in the fake 911 call that ultimately lead to the death of 28 year old Andrew Thomas Finch. Barriss was arrested to be charged with calling in the hoax, and potentially for his part in the death of Andrew Finch. Last we left off, it didn’t appear that any punitive action would be taken against the two other individuals involved in the hoax, either the person who ‘hired’ Barriss to call the police or the Call of Duty player that gave Barriss the fake address. Well this week a federal indictment was unsealed against Tyler Barriss as well as Casey Viner, 18 of North College Hill, Ohio, and Shane Gaskill, 19 of Witchita, Kansas. Barriss’ charges include making false/hoax reports to emergency services, cyberstalking, making interstate threats, making interstate threats to harm by fire, wire fraud and conspiracy to … [Read more...] about Federal Charges Filed Against Tyler Barriss And Accomplices In Witchita Swatting
ARK Survival Evolved multiplayer VR spinoff ARK Park announced upcoming DLC this week. It’s a content-loaded update called Pterosaur Hill that’ll introduce air combat, new maps, and new critters to all platforms this summer – specifically, by the end of June. “Air battles are a key component of ‘Pterosaur Hill.’ Players will be able to hop on a Pterosaur to show off their excellent air combat skills – then traverse the treacherous Death Canyon to find the nest of a fire-breathing dragon. ‘Pterosaur Hill’ also features new weapons and items to spice up combat. For instance, players will be able to equip a Tachi sword to slash away at overly aggressive dinos (the precursor to the katana) and a powerful shotgun perfect for dispatching large numbers of enemies.” Three new maps that make use of the new flight mechanics, plus new modes of transportation (including hot air balloons) and new flying species will finish off the update. … [Read more...] about ARK Park announces flight-centric freebie DLC for June
