Blaugust 2019 is coming! If you ever thought about starting your own blog, Blaugust – the Festival of Blogging – is here for you! Or maybe you already have a blog and want to be more active again. Or you have an active blog and just want to interact more with the blogging community. Either way, Blaugust covers it! It is once again primarily organized by Belghast. Thank you for that! As you can probably guess, Blaugust is about blogging. The goal is to… well, blog. There used to be the goal of posting one post for every single day of August and of course, you can still set that goal if you like! One of the big centerpieces of Astellia Online’s next beta test is the Avalon battlefield, and it’s a bit part of how the game is meant to work. But it’s not simply a straightforward PvP affair, nor is it limited to simple matches that just reset over time. Instead, players who enter the battlefield are randomly assigned one of the three factions of Avalon (Physe, Ceres, or Eos) and tasked with building up that faction and demolishing the others by capturing towers, killing monsters, killing guards, and taking down enemy players. A given battle for Avalon will last for a week’s time, with player contributions reset at the end of the week and resulting in currency rewards. There are also quests to take on while you’re in the battlefield and special rewards for the faction that earns the most points in a given cycle, with players who contribute more getting more currency and even more going to participants on the winning side. Check out the full rundown to … [Read more...] about Astellia Online details the mechanics for its Avalon battlefield
It was a giant leap for mankind when Neil Armstrong took his first steps onto the surface of the moon in 1969. It seems only appropriate that Astroneer, a game in no small part invigorated by the memory of that race to the stars, is honoring the mission with the addition of the landing module on the moon Desolo. Players who take a trip to the module can unlock a special visor, palette, and over an hour of recorded audio from the Apollo 11 mission that landed on the moon in the real world. The landing module will also take photos of players in the style of the camera mounted on the lunar lander as an extra nod to the history of space travel. There’s more in the update, of course, including new forms of storage platform, but the centerpiece is a chance to look back on these steps into the great unknown… something that is understandably near and dear to the hearts of the developers and, presumably, the players.
