According to a new report by mobile analytics firm Sensor Tower Fate/Grand Order generated over $2 billion in lifetime sales worldwide since it launched in August 2015. The game has been Sony's biggest hit to date on mobile and is one of the world's highest grossing games. In the last 3 months alone Fate/Grand Order brought in $290 million across iOS and Android and is expected to bring in over $1 billion this year alone. June's revenue came in at $100 million as well. As with most other mobile games, the majority of Fate/Grand Order's revenue comes from iOS users with 64% coming from iOS and the remaining 34% coming from Android. According to the report 97% of players are from the game's home market of Japan. ArtCraft Entertainment, the studio developing the PC massively multiplayer online role-playing game Crowfall, announced today that it will begin licensing its MMO-making engine and tools. ArtCraft is calling the new stack of technology the Artisan Engine. The Artisan Engine will help developers create large MMO worlds. It will offer tools for RPG staples like characters, inventory, equipment, monsters, AI, harvesting, races, classes, subclasses, powers, banking, secure trading, skills, and leveling. 0 So here’s a legitimate question for you guys… why is Warframe so popular all of a sudden? I know why it’s being played by all of the Twitch streamers. They have #ad in their titles and are being paid to play. I know why it’s being covered on some of the bigger news sites. They have disclaimers about being flown to London, and many NA-based outlets are happy to accept the free vacation in exchange for coverage. What I’m curious about is why the sudden surge. Warframe came out in 2013 and the reviews weren’t favorable. At best it was in that “hey if you like this you might also like this” category, scraping by with 40%-70% scores. I tried it and it felt like a spaztastic shooter game with big emphasis on looting and being a fashion show. The game I tried was generic and lifeless.
