Lineage II Revolution, the popular spinoff of the equally popular MMO, revealed its latest update today. The update includes the brand new Kamael class which starts on the Soul Island territory and has access to three classes; Warrior/Rogue/Mystic, along with exclusive weapons for the class. This update also introduces a new dual class system allowing players to do just that, and experience a second class on the same character. Other features included in the update are: New Server Addition – The Gunter and Lancer servers will be added to Lineage 2: Revolution in the western region starting from August 29 (specific time will be notified to players via the official game forum). Players who make new characters on these servers will receive Adena, Red Diamond, and three types of daily benefits for seven days. Level-up has become 3x faster for players, with easier gameplay routes. In Game Events – Celebrate the launch of the Kamael … [Read more...] about Mobility: Lineage II Revolution Update Adds New Race

Retro Gaming: Warcraft II
I’ve been going on a bit of a retro RTS kick lately, and one of the first stops on that tour had to be the game that — alongside C&C Red Alert — was one of the most instrumental in sucking me into this genre. Released in 1995, Warcraft II helped to establish Blizzard as a powerhouse studio rather than a firm that did the random console title. Everyone, just everyone, played this game. It was far more polished and full featured than 1992’s Dune II, one of the first popular real-time strategy games. Even my wife confessed to playing this a lot as a teenager, which gave her a shock when she saw that I had purchased this through GOG and installed it on my computer. So with years of World of Warcraft under my belt and over two decades since playing this game, how does Warcraft II hold up in 2019? What is it like, looking at it backwards through the lens of WoW? I was dying to find out. While Warcraft II didn’t really do much new — it had multiplayer … [Read more...] about Retro Gaming: Warcraft II
EverQuesting: EverQuest II breaks into spring with Beast’r eggs and Bristlebane
Spring has sprung! And for EverQuest II, that means a return of Beast’r Eggs and Bristlebane. Norrathians get to celebrate the season by immersing themselves in frivolity and fun, pranks and pets, egg hunts and event rewards… but only for a limited time. More than most events, these two are time sensitive. While the Bristlebane Day festival startes yesterday and goes for two weeks, The Highest of Silly Days is only one day — April 1st. And the Beast’r Eggstravaganza only lasts a single week, ending early on the 4th. The chances of missing out on the semore time-limited festivities is too high, so I’m going to help you make sure you can catch these celebrations this year! I’ve got tips and tricks as well as a general guide to help you make the most of both festivals. Beast’r Egg hunting While I praised it highly last year for being a unique new live event, that doesn’t mean I am sad to see Beast’r Eggs return. On the … [Read more...] about EverQuesting: EverQuest II breaks into spring with Beast’r eggs and Bristlebane
Lineage II celebrates its anniversary and the spring harvest
Dual events are vying for players’ attention in NCsoft’s long-running Lineage II. Can you believe that the fantasy MMORPG is now 14 years old? You’d better, because the anniversary celebration is happening right now. From now through May 16th, Lineage II is spreading the love and festivities to all players through bonus server settings. These include 300% vitality bonus, no XP loss upon death, and 200% item drop rates (on weekends only). In addition to the anniversary, the Spring Harvest event is in full swing with lots of opportunities to smash open food to see if there are any rewards inside. Because that’s what you should have been doing with food all along, don’t you know! Lineage II launched in North America back on April 27th, 2004. Yes, it actually predates a certain other fantasy MMO. Impress your friends with that fact. EverQuesting: EverQuest II’s 14th anniversary retrospective, from Columbus Nova to Chaos Descending
During last year’s anniversary retrospective for EverQuest II I dared to say things were too quiet. Big mistake! Why would I tempt fate like that? I certainly can’t say the same for the game’s 14th year. The past 12 months have heralded activity from updates and new in-game festivals (yay) to more layoffs and server merges (boo). And who could forget the shutdown scare and apparent cover up/lying over the Columbus-Nova-doesn’t-own-Daybreak fiasco halfway through the year. That was anything but boring. And except for the rebuttals and “clarifications” offered due to the aforementioned fiasco, there was less communication from Daybreak, even though more was promised. In fact, I never heard one word from that representative again. Still, EQII weathered through it all, if not unscathed. Each year that Norrath celebrates another anniversary, I cheer. And 14 years is a pretty big milestone. Norrath still holds many memories over all those years. Take a … [Read more...] about EverQuesting: EverQuest II’s 14th anniversary retrospective, from Columbus Nova to Chaos Descending
