Gaming Influences A few days ago one of my friends that works in the games industry was talking about a thing that had been circulating around his studio. The idea was for each of the folks to create a list of the fifteen games that most influenced them, or taunt them something new that games could do. While this is a really helpful exercise in the gaming industry I am sure, I figured it would also be pretty fun to do as a lifelong gamer and gaming blogger. The thing I was not realizing while going into it… was just how hard it would be to pair things down to a list of fifteen games. There are so many titles I wanted to include, but I had to come up with a hard rationale for each and every one on the list. So there will be titles that are conspicuously absent, and others that I have included that you wouldn’t think of. World of Warcraft Classic Release Date and 15th Anniversary News
Starting August 27, World of Warcraft® players and fans around the world will be able to relive—or experience for the first time—the early days of Azeroth with World of Warcraft Classic™. This authentic re-creation takes players back to the beginnings of Blizzard Entertainment’s groundbreaking massively multiplayer online role-playing game, a time when Onyxia spread terror from her lair in Duskwallow Marsh, Leeroy Jenkins became a sensation after some ill-advised heroics in Upper Blackrock Spire, and only the bravest or most foolhardy quested alone in Stranglethorn Vale. Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers Review
On the 28th of June, early access for FFXIV: Shadowbringers went live, consequently I lost a lot of time as I dove head first into the latest expansion for FFXIV. The prophecy was fulfilled on the 28th when I stepped foot into the game and created my Dancer. It was a certainty that I’d choose this job, as my time from the Press Event in San Francisco only solidified the choice that I’d play one of the most enjoyable jobs brought to the game. Albeit a personal opinion, Dancer has been exceedingly fun to learn and play. Unlike other DPS jobs, it has a more upbeat tempo to it.
