A new episode of Battle Bards is up! I know, I know, it seems I’ve missed a few Battle Bards updates here. Not to mention I’ve not had any other new content here for months. Our family welcomed a new baby at the end of January and things have been pretty busy since. Between taking care of a newborn plus my rambunctious three-year-old, along with my book reviews and other stuff I have to take care of around the place, I’ve been too busy to do much gaming and blogging about it, and so the posts here have kind of dried up. Can’t promise anything, but I do hope to be more active on here again once things calm down. But anyway, back to the Battle Bards episode. I’ve been taking a break from the show due to the arrival of our little one, but Syp and Syl and the show guests have been doing great! Fear not though, I will be back to the doing Battle Bards shows again soon. This week’s episode is Back to the 90s! Did you know that the Battle Bards have a time … [Read more...] about Battle Bards Episode 48: Back To The 90s (…And Also Back To This Blog!)
Get Destiny 2 nowShe enters your apartment and you stand ready to greet her, wearing your Destiny 2-branded bathrobe. “Come in,” you purr, offering her a sippy cup full of Destiny 2-themed energy drink with Destiny 2-themed ice cubes. “I’ve carefully planned our evening, darling. It should be special.” “Ooh, I like my dates to have class,” she replies for no readily explainable reason, stepping carefully past the teetering pile of Destiny 2-branded Pop-Tart boxes. “What is that wonderful scent?” “I’ve been burning these Destiny 2-themed scented candles,” you say, holding up your Ghost-shaped candle holder because your interactions have the air of a thinly veiled advertisement. “Tell me, darling, would you prefer the scents of Venus, or do you long for the musky odor of the Dreadnaught?” “You choose, you astonishing portrait of seduction,” she cries. “Take me now.” (Yes, all of … [Read more...] about Destiny 2 also has a line of scented candles
Just a disclaimer that I don't want to sound rude or anything like that in this post. I've been reading the posts people are making and have noticed that quite a few of them are extremely hyped and so I am, I have high hopes for this game, but I've seen many people comparing aspects to some triple a games in a way that sounded that they will be disappointed if it doesn't do those things or even go above and beyond, and while it is great to have all this excitement and hype I'm just very aware that this isn't the biggest team of people making it. Don't get me wrong it's entirely possible that it will have all the aspects it's just no game is ever perfect and you shouldn't be expecting that. Basically I'm scared that we will 'Bless' it , where people are expecting a masterpiece of a game, and if this game is "just" good or great, people will give up on it because they're expecting so much more. … [Read more...] about Scared of all this hype, but also really hyped at the same time.
When Daybreak’s Columbus Nova fiasco and layoffs were hitting last month, most of the company’s MMORPGs resurfaced without missing a beat, reassuring their playerbases that the patches would continue and the titles would see ongoing support. That wasn’t the case for the survival half of the original H1Z1 known as Just Survive. The lack of communication and information had prompted many players to assume the game would be “Landmarked” – that is, finally released from early access/beta to earn a little launch money and then quietly sunsetted. But late last night, Daybreak finally tossed its fans on Reddit a bone. Technical Director Mitch Evans apologized for the silence, saying that he still has a “small yet passionate team” working on the game. “Right now, we are focused on making sure you continue to enjoy the game, so the majority of our resources are spent mostly on maintaining game stability, fixing game-breaking bugs, and … [Read more...] about Daybreak promises a patch for Just Survive – but it’s also ending lockbox sales
Yes? Well, then why don’t you do the same for your content management system? If you think this analogy is strange, think again, WordPress, like any other content management system, is majorly engaged in the work of saving, managing and retrieving media, querying databases for files, and serving them on web pages. And so, WordPress optimization is an essential task for any publisher. Why clean up? As such, redundancy can and does creep into the system once you’ve changed a few themes, installed and deleted multiple plugins, and uploaded hundreds of media files. Your site will still work, obviously, but it is bogged down by the deadweight of extra files. Here’s how you can refresh your system and make life easier for your content management system, reducing server load and possibly increasing page load times in the process. First, take a backup I’m guessing if you’re considering cleaning your WordPress installation, you probably have a lot of posts and … [Read more...] about Guide to WordPress Optimization & Cleanup
