Standing Stone Games launched update 22.2 this week which overhauled 6 of the game's classes as well as introduced anniversary and summer events. The 6 classes overhauled are the Champion, Guardian, Hunter, Lore Master, Minstrel, and Warden. Some classes got changed quite a bit more than others but these are some big tweaks. Tactical relics also got some serious rebalancing due to "class imbalances" created by them. Lord of the Rings Online is an oldie; it was released back in 2007 as a subscription MMORPG and was one of the first few Western games to embrace the free to play model. Lord of The Rings Online is celebrating it’s 11th year online this month, and with that milestone comes another tier in their recurring Anniversary Event. Lord of The Rings Online’s patch 22.1 ushers in the celebrations, which start April 19th. The following is taken from the Official Forum Post: Players will receive three additional Treasure Hunt cards focusing on the history of the game and core themes from Lord of the Rings when the event begins at 10:00 AM Eastern on Thursday, April 19th. Additionally, all player progress earned during LOTRO’s 10th Anniversary remains in place, so players can continue their celebration. All previous years’ quests are available immediately, but players will need to complete a prior quest before getting the next one. The latest Lord of the Rings Online update (v22.2) will arrive today with some big changes, particularly with regard to the rebalancing of Tactical Relics. In addition, players will find the Summer Festival back in the game along with two new Seasonal Instances. The Lay of Rust & Rime continues "with eight new weekly episodes to conclude its story!" The biggest change comes, however, for Tactical Runes and the massive amount of rebalancing changes that will arrive in the patch: Tactical Relic Rebalancing We have rebalanced recent changes to Tactical Relics, necessitated by some issues that arose during their initial implementation for the Mordor expansion. The relics with the new tactical bonuses had two serious balance issues: They were never intended to be equipped in class Legendary Item slots. They weren't scaled correctly compared to the base bonus ratings on the weapons. The Lord of the Rings Online forum has a cool new project update from a fan / player named Daniel Moravek. He has created a view of Middle-earth as it exists in the game as if taken from space. "Map tiles were captured for each region with TerrainMap and further edited into one large image". It showcases all locations that are present through Update 22 without any resizing or rotation applied. It's a fascinating look at a game world from a perspective most never get a chance to see.
