Ashes of Creation (PC) Ashes of Creation is still the biggest hyped MMORPG yet to be released today. It garnered famed through its widely shared Kickstarter campaign that raised over $3million overnight, promising to make MMORPGs great again with complex systems, group play, player driven towns, economies and communities. Solo play will still be viable for those that prefer it, but the devs believe that MMOs are best when players come together. One of the first things we learn is that the base group size in Ashes is eight. It’s a steady increase from other games, where four to six is usually the norm. 8-man groups allows the content to amplify party roles and take advantage of all class archetypes. Speaking of roles, Ashes of Creation will emphasize importance on the holy trinity. That is of course, the Tank, DPS and Healer. However, Support roles are as equally important via the secondary class system to make customizing player characters a key feature. … [Read more...] about The Best MMORPG Of 2019 And Beyond

Both games will have a quest to quest hub like feature, but Black Desert Online being a somewhat sandbox game, you can skip most of the quests and just grind. However, you're going to be missing out on a lot of bonuses if you wish to do so. It's fairly easy to reach a high level in both titles upon release day which can be done in less than week. It shouldn't be hard to get to level 50 or 55 cap during Black Desert Online release, but once the level 60 cap arrives, the grinding becomes unreal. Why? Mainly because the game wasn't supposed to have a level cap. Leveling up in Blade & Soul should also be easy during the first few patches, but once the level 50 the plus 20 extra levels come out, it's going to be grindy ride and not really worth your time to aim for the ultimate maximum level in both games. If you're a person that's picky and want to be maxed level in a game, then both games will eat you up inside, because the grind is going to literally kill you or your wallet with EXP … [Read more...] about STEPARU News, Reviews, Previews & Information for Foreign Games Black Desert VS Blade & Soul 2016 Special
I love experimentation. My biggest “problem” as a gamer is that I usually value novelty and innovation above polish and accessibility. However, I also try to consider how the new brings about change, and often look to research and social commentary about how games address issues or concepts people may struggle with and gives them a way to play with it safely. Here’s hoping that in 2017, developers stop looking at VR/AR as just “games” but virtual worlds connected to our own, especially when it brings virtual activities into meatspace where the consequences, well, real. Our genre in particular is fertile ground for this, but we need developers who are considering not just the virtual concepts of the game, but the holistic ones that interact with the real world. … [Read more...] about Massively Overthinking: The best MMORPG developer quotes of 2016
Battlefield V For the record, Call of Duty could have easily replaced BFV on this best games of 2018 list, that’s how close the two games are in terms of what they offered their own fan base. But we’re giving the nod to Battlefield V for a couple of reasons. Firstly, they’ve learned their lesson from Star Wars Battlefront II and the entire micro-transaction drama. No such nonsense exist in Battlefield V. Credit is given where it is due, and secondly, their bold decision to feature an unorthodox profile of untold War Stories featuring women and people of color in the game paid off. There was so much whining going on before release and people don’t even know what they’re talking about. In World War II, courage came from everyone, and the game’s short single player story-driven missions highlights that. The 64 player Conquest mode is a beauty to behold, with squad play still performing well and the fact that it is World War II makes it even sweeter … [Read more...] about The Best Games Of 2018 You Need To Play Before 2019 Arrives
