Quite a bit of news has circulated its way around the internet this week and I plan on covering as much of it as I can in this video. Let’s start this off with some news that I’m sure Nexon is happy about: MapleStory 2, the highly anticipated sequel to one of Nexon’s most successful games, Maplestory, finally launched a couple days ago as a free to play MMORPG both on Steam and through the Nexon Launcher. GameNet has been the local publisher for Black Desert Online in Russia until recently – Pearl Abyss chose not to renew their license with GameNet, however both companies vowed to work alongside one another to transfer over all player data. Netmarble held its media conference for Blade and Soul: Revolution on October 11th, and had quite a bit of information to divulge regarding the upcoming free to play MMORPG. Blade and Soul: Revolution, powered by Unreal Engine 4 is based on the popular IP from NCSoft, “Blade and Soul“, released on PCs with a console port in the works, was revealed to have finally been given an official launch date for South Korea: December 6, with pre-registration beginning yesterday. Blade and Soul: Revolution, following in the footsteps of NCSoft’s other mobile adaptation, Lineage 2: Revolution, will follow the original game’s story, including the conflict with Jinsoyun and the search for Twilight’s Edge while aiming to stay as true to the original PC game as possible. At a recent media conference, Netmarble announced that Blade & Soul: Revolution, the upcoming mobile adaptation of NCSoft’s free-to-play martial arts MMO, will officially be releasing in Korea on December 6th. Following in the footsteps NCSoft’s other mobile adaptation, Lineage 2: Revolution, Blade & Soul: Revolution aims to stay as true to the original PC game as possible. According to a report from MMO Culture, the mobile version of the game will include gliding and sprinting, which will allow players to navigate the game’s “5 massive zones.” Blade & Soul: Revolution will allow players to choose from four playable races (Jin, Gon, Yun, and Lyn) as well as four classes (Blader Master, Kung Fu Master, Destroyer, and a fourth, enigmatic class, tentatively named Machinist), and in addition to its PvE content, which includes “over 150 high-quality cinematic cut scenes” to immerse players in the story, the game also boasts massive … [Read more...] about Blade & Soul: Revolution on mobile gets official Korean release date
NCSoft has two special events lined up to mark the release of the Blade and Soul Celestial Dawn Update on June 20th – Weaponsmith’s Forge and Raid Crusade. Weaponsmith’s Forge will run from June 20th through July 25th. During the event, players can take advantage of significantly discounted upgrade costs. Upgrade materials will also be easier to acquire through the Gildstone event which allows you to exchange Gildstone Tokens for Dragon Express rewards. Gildstone Tokens can be earned by completing Daily Challenges. The Raid Crusade event will also be running on the same dates. For Raid Crusade, players will have a chance to earn Ephemeral Charms and Elixir Pouches which contain raid buff consumables by completing weekly challenges and Hard Mode for The Drowning Deeps, Ransacked Treasury, and Sandstorm Temple.
