From today through November 11th, all Destiny 2 players can try out the Gambit 4v4 mode that "combines the best of PvE and PvP". Gambit is a feature from the Forsaken content expansion that was released earlier this year. Regardless of whether or not players own Forsaken, they can take part in the weekend's event. Gambit pits two four-player teams against one another. Each team is racing to kill AI opponents that fills an "energy bank". Once that goal is reached, an enemy Taken is summoned that becomes an ally in the attack on the opposing team. Those who do own Forsaken will enjoy Double Infamy as it will be part of the Gambit playlist. "As it's a full curse week, expect to see some Ascendant Primeval Servitors during your time on the field". Other components of this week's community newsletter: a brief look at the technical updates coming in upcoming patches the return of the Iron Banner starting November 13th and lasting until November 20th Seasonal Triumphs up through November … [Read more...] about Destiny 2: Forsaken Gambit Free Trial Weekend Starts Today

The latest Destiny 2 - This Week at Bungie newsletter has been posted with some great news for Guardians. When the v1.2.3 update launches on Tuesday, July 17th, players will find that 6v6 will be making its way to Quickplay and that Bounties, aka daily objectives, will be making a return. Tyson Green: With the original launch of Destiny, bounties provided a set of daily objectives that players could use to advance faction reputation or earn XP to level up their gear. These were removed to streamline the activity experience in Destiny 2 and reduce the number of “chores” that players felt compelled to complete every day. In retrospect, we realized that was an over-correction, and optional daily objectives to achieve specific goals are something we want to restore. The letter also points out other significant features coming in Tuesday's update including: Quality of Life Improvements - PC Clan Chat; momentum removed from Heroic Adventures; etc. Exotic … [Read more...] about 6v6 Quickplay Coming in Tuesday’s Update & Bounties Making a Return

Get Destiny 2 nowGone are the days when Bungie would put out teases and trailers for its expansions, apparently. Last night, it practically stealth-announced Destiny 2’s next big thing in the middle of a roadmap. “On May 8, with the beginning of Season Three, we’re also launching the second expansion to Destiny 2,” Bungie says. “It’s called Warmind, and it will send you to new places to meet new heroes and battle new enemies. You’ll earn new loot and master new activities. Today, we’re naming it and dating it. You’ll learn more in a reveal stream on April 24.” The rest of the announcement is similarly low-key. Warmind will bring private matches, more vault space, and multiple weapons changes, followed by a summer update with a new seasonal event, bounties, and guild chat on PC, and then season four in September. “Season Three marks the beginning of a new plan for how we deliver Crucible content. For every player of … [Read more...] about Destiny 2’s second expansion, Warmind, launches May 8, or whatever
