A recent change to Eve Online’s Terms of Service has prompted several inaccurate reports that CCP now disallows scamming, spying, and sabotage, and is actively banning players for said actions. The alteration, according to CCP, clarified an already in-place rule which made impersonation of another player a bannable offense. For example, pretending to be a representative of an organization to scam a player is considered a bannable offense. Pretending to be an alt of another character is also a bannable offense under this rule. One player (Abdiel Kavash) on the forums asked if impersonating one of your own alts to scam someone was against the rules: CASE 2: I decide that I want to make some extra money off my past customers, without necessarily having to provide any extra services. I create a new character, Phill McScammer, on my account. I then go talk to a past customer of AbdielCorp and I claim that Phill McScammer is an alt of Abdiel Kavash. Customer falls for it, sends me … [Read more...] about Eve Online Bans Impersonating Your Own Alts

When Pearl Abyss bought out CCP Games last week, the overwhelming message to EVE Online players was that it would be business as usual for the foreseeable future. Many players were initially worried that Pearl Abyss would try to squeeze as much money as possible out of the EVE playerbase, but it seems likely that Pearl Abyss isn’t too interested in interfering with the game. Pearl Abyss CEO Robin Jung confirmed that “CCP Games will operate as an independent studio” and CCP Games confirmed in a recent Q&A that “CCP maintains control of how we develop EVE.” Not all changes to EVE Online‘s monetisation model would be negative, though, and there are definitely opportunities to make more money from players without negatively impacting the game or its community. EVE has been chronically under-merchandised throughout its lifetime, for example, with some nice premium collectable books but a poor online store and no ship models or posters … [Read more...] about EVE Evolved: Two ways that EVE Online’s monetisation could be expanded under Pearl Abyss
Play EVE Online for freeJust a few days ago, we awoke to news so unexpected that it made me check I hadn’t time-traveled to April 1st: EVE Online developer CCP Games is being bought by Black Desert Online studio Pearl Abyss for a total of $425 million USD. The news immediately kicked the EVE Online community into a frenzy, with most people’s gut reactions being overwhelmingly negative. Black Desert is known for its aggressive monetisation strategies and many EVE Online players were understandably worried that Pearl Abyss would try to force the same strategy onto EVE. CCP Games and Pearl Abyss have obviously been very positive about the buyout, with both companies issuing statements about the exciting new opportunities they see in working together. CCP has also been pretty quick to get a handle on the community discussion surrounding the deal, answering some questions on twitter and holding a Q&A thread on the EVE forum Friday nightt. The player-elected Council … [Read more...] about EVE Evolved: What could the sale of CCP Games mean for EVE Online?
Sadly, it does not seem that God Eater Online really talks much about the experience of turning deific entities into snacks. If you were hoping to discover the unparalleled flavor of gods (possibly after they have been deep-fried), you will be disappointed. But not for much longer, as the game has announced that it will be shutting down in September in Japan. The title never made its way over to local shores, and under the circumstances that seems almost certain not to change. God Eater Online launched on mobile in Japan back in February of 2017 and was based on the franchise of the same name, with players taking a variety of characters into active combat against monsters. The microtransaction store will be taken offline at the end of August, although for understandable reasons you may not wish to spend any money on it now, either. Our condolences to fans and developers affected by the shutdown. Source: Official Site via SiliconeraSHARE THIS ARTICLE … [Read more...] about God Eater Online is shutting down in September
Soulworker Online is one of few upcoming Anime titles that had a lot of hype over the past few years. The game is still being developed South Korea for quite some time now and to everyone's surprise, the title is going to be marketed in Japan first with Open Beta scheduled this year. Are you curious about the new changes of Soulworker Online? Be one of the first to read about it below! Character Customization - Playable Characters The first beta offered three playable characters two female and one male. Starting with a Female Soulum Sword, a Male Gun Jazz, and a Female Mist Scythe. I believe the Open Beta will have three female characters and only one male, unless they're planning to release the hidden male character shown in teaser trailers. Character customization was a bit limited in this test and may improve on the next test. Moving on! The World - Action MMORPG or Action MORPG?
