This weekend, I was flown out to a secret location to participate in an ultra-secret military operation. That’s mostly true. I did, however, take part in a Wargaming demonstration in New York this weekend to get hands-on with a huge update coming to World of Tanks Console – World of Tanks: Mercenaries. In addition to that, we got into the spirit of being on the front lines by heading on a mission in a military carrier, to stop German soldiers in a World War II village. Our carrier rolled alongside tanks and other carriers to save the day and gain valuable intel from the captured German officers. We also spent time talking to a pair of real-life mercenaries, learned about their experiences and some of the inspiration behind the decisions made in this content update. There is little doubt that PUBG has been the gaming phenomenon that has stricken gamers, so much so that it has over 300,000 people playing the game at any time. The game has managed to break concurrent player records each month on Steam, and doesn’t look to be stopping its meteoric rise anytime soon. The test server alone has managed to find itself on the Most Played list, even if player progress doesn’t carry over when the full game releases. What’s more, it won the Best Multiplayer award at this year’s Game Awards recently too. PUBG hit the Xbox One Preview program recently, and would be assumed to thrive on the Xbox One X, given the power of the machine, which could bring significant improvements to the visuals. Funcom’s survivalbox Conan Exiles has officially shed early access and entered final launch as of today – that’s on PC, PS4, and Xbox One – having sold a reported one million copies in the lead up to release. You may have thought that last month’s patch – with the combat revamp and fast travel – was the big show, but you’d be wrong. In fact, there’s a huge download for the day-one patch (and patch notes) waiting for you no matter your platform. Update 1.8.1 for The Division. The update is now live and it comes with the highly-awaited Xbox One X Enhancement Patch which significantly improves visuals on the console with 4K rendering and a host of other graphical improvements. The update also brings with it two new Global Event: Blackout and Onslaught. Global Event 5 – Blackout Blackout Always active: Agents are equipped with Shock Ammo that stuns enemies. Shooting or running builds your Charge meter - the more Charge, the more damage you inflict. Extreme Blackout Blackout behavior, plus you can instantly kill enemies with Overcharged melee attacks, but if you miss you will stun yourself and your allies.
