With Guild Wars 2’s update this week, some quality of life changes has been made to the game’s harvesting and crafting. Unlimited use tools now have upgrade slots, which players can attach glyphs to. These glyphs provide stat enhancers not for combat however, and instead offer players other benefits such as increasing gathering speed. See below for the list of stats: Glyph of the Tailor: Gain a 33% chance to receive bonus cloth scraps. Glyph of the Leatherworker: Gain a 33% chance to receive bonus leather scraps. Glyph of Industry: Gathering completes 50% faster. Glyph of Flight: Increases movement speed for 5 seconds after gathering completes. The game is offering all players (Non F2P) a free glyph from the in-game store to use, but assuming you have more than one unlimited tool, you’ll need to get the rest. So where do they drop from? Something To Gamble On The answer lies within the Black Lion Chests, or the game’s RNG lockbox. Glyphs … [Read more...] about Guild Wars 2: Do Players Really Need Stats On Their Harvesting Tools?

Get Guild Wars 2 Path of FireIt’s not every day that you walk into a building dominated by an enormous griffon, the enormous statue replicating the mount in Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire. You could, of course, argue that the griffon is functionally an upgraded version of the glider from Heart of Thorns, but that just brings you back to the idea that Path of Fire is closer to what people wanted from Heart of Thorns in the first place. It’s a bigger expansion for people not interested in the rather narrow focus of the jungle. Which makes sense, since according to the game director, Mike Zadorojny, the focus of what the expansion was meant to be about was radically different between the two expansions, and Path of Fire was closer to an expansion of the base game. I had the chance to sit with Zadorojny and chat about various issues of both current development ant future direction, although we did not have that chat on the back of the griffon. (There were people waiting in line.) … [Read more...] about PAX East 2018: Guild Wars 2 game director Mike Zadorojny on Path of Fire, monetization, and more

Date: 06-12-2012 Views: loading Comment: loading... Have you ever thought that you can level up your character to the max level by just crafting? It sounds impossible because crafting seems just an add-on profession in most MMOs. Well, it now can be achieved in Guild Wars 2 as ArenaNet designer Linsey Murdock stated in a recent forum post, players will be able to level it all the way to 80 without killing a thing but crafting. According to Murdock, it works like this: "For leveling a discipline from 0-400, you will gain 10 levels along the way. By maxing out all 8 disciplines, you will gain 80 levels. That means you could dedicate a character to crafting, feed it all the mats you get on other characters and level it all the way to 80 without ever needing to kill a thing. As hardcore crafters, we think that is pretty cool." Many players shared their concern about that. Some players thought this will turn Guild Wars 2 into a P2W game since players can pay real money for gems and … [Read more...] about Guild Wars 2: You Can Level up to 80 without Killing a Thing
