If you follow the mainstream gaming media meta at all, you’ve probably noticed that a lot of sites, spurred on by Polygon, have been mulling over the concept of the backlog – you know, that pile (or digital list) of games you bought and haven’t finished or even tried. Did we even have backlogs before online platforms like Steam? Because I don’t really remember having one back then – I just played what I had. But then again, I’m also primarily an MMORPG gamer. Occasionally I’ll blast through my non-MMO list and do a sort of 15-minute speed-dating game with some untrieds, but mostly, I’m content with just having some novelty waiting for me when I need it. My MMO and online game backlog, though, eats at me. I bought Project Gorgon this summer, for example, and haven’t tried it. Staxel and No Man’s Sky too. These kinds of games have a time … [Read more...] about The Daily Grind: Do you have an MMO backlog, and if so, what’s on it?

Riot Games has posted a new blog to lay out details of a new game mode called Nexus Blitz. Nexus Blitz will be part of the new Experimental Modes program that will see various new ways to play crop up a couple times per year. Experimental Modes program allows players to test new ways to play and allows devs a chance to "aggressively patch" before bringing it into the full game. Nexus Blitz matches last about 15 minutes "that emphasizes exciting and surprising moments over intense competition, while still rewarding the skills you've learned from other League modes". In Nexus Blitz, each team consists of a duo jungle in close proximity to three laners. The compact map makes for constant action, and a roulette of new, unexpected events amplifies the frenzy even more. Events are map-wide, mayhem-inducing scenarios that kick off every few minutes, granting powerful rewards to the team that wins. Some events draw from familiar game experiences that many players will instantly get, and … [Read more...] about Nexus Blitz is a New 15-Minute Mode Featured in Experimental Mode

They’re often at odds with your artistic vision. But there’s one thing you need to remember: Editors are writers, too. I am a writer. Honestly, I’m much more of a writer … [Read more...] about I Will Show You How to Make Your Blog Professional in 15 minutes
