Daily 15 minute workout
Just because pretty much every MMO peaks pretty early and enjoys those 15 minutes of fame and glory before settling down with a family and a quiet life thereafter doesn’t mean that our games can’t rise again. I think about how Dungeons and Dragons Online surged back into the gaming mainstream when it championed free-to-play or how last year’s progression servers pushed RIFT and LOTRO back into the limelight. Of course, it doesn’t always take a major event to give an MMO a second (or third) renaissance. Sometimes it can merely be the result of a lot of great patches, positive word-of-mouth, and solid development. So which MMOs would you say are enjoying a new lease on life these days? Bonus question: Which MMOs are due for another shot at glory? Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take … [Read more...] about The Daily Grind: Which MMOs are enjoying a new lease on life these days?
Riot Games has posted a new blog to lay out details of a new game mode called Nexus Blitz. Nexus Blitz will be part of the new Experimental Modes program that will see various new ways to play crop up a couple times per year. Experimental Modes program allows players to test new ways to play and allows devs a chance to "aggressively patch" before bringing it into the full game. The compact map makes for constant action, and a roulette of new, unexpected events amplifies the frenzy even more. Events are map-wide, mayhem-inducing scenarios that kick off every few minutes, granting powerful rewards to the team that wins. Some events draw from familiar game experiences that many players will instantly get, and … [Read more...] about Nexus Blitz is a New 15-Minute Mode Featured in Experimental Mode

My name is Eric and I’m an editor. I’ve been a freelancer for many years working with various companies, marketplaces, students, professionals, journalists, entrepreneurs, copywriters, travel portals, bloggers, musicians, and all other facets of writers. If you’ve submitted a post here at ShoutMeLoud, you may have had an encounter with me. Some of those encounters may have been favorable, and others, well, maybe not so much. First, let me start off by answering this question: Editors are essentially grammar nerds. We seek to make sure that everything the writer is saying is said in the most attractive way possible. But not everyone has a favorable opinion of editors. Here’s why: They nit-pick. They change words and phrases that you think didn’t need to be changed. They’re often at odds with your artistic vision. But there’s one thing you need to remember: Editors are writers, too. I am a writer. Honestly, I’m much more of a writer … [Read more...] about I Will Show You How to Make Your Blog Professional in 15 minutes
