League of Angels III has ended its open beta phase and is proud to go into full launch all over the world. This is the third of the turn-based “League of Angels” games and has been out since late May. The official release happened on August 14th (with the first Oceanic Server starting up at 11 am UTC+8). Since the game’s open beta, the League of Angels III team received an overwhelming amount of requests for European and Oceanic servers, and are now able to deliver servers going online on August 14th. The first Oceanic server “Pavara” will be online on August 14th, and the first European server “Balerius” on August 15th. With brand-new 3D graphics, effects and a story, this battle between Angels and Dragons has officially commenced. Superstitious or not, a 13th birthday for Dungeons and Dragons Online feels pretty darn lucky to us in this day and age. Standing Stone Games is celebrating the title’s birthday this week, the anniversary of which dates back to DDO’s launch on February 28th, 2006. The 13th anniversary celebration is live, and if it’s anything like last year’s, it’ll open up a special questline that breaks the fourth wall in so many ways and gives you the opportunity to battle the developers themselves. The game’s going to be giving away freebies via codes starting on February 28th as well. All in all, it’s a pretty exciting time to be a DDO fan, especially with the Sharn expansion on the near horizon. This week in MMO crowdfunding, Star Citizen’s crowdfunding reached new heights as Cloud Imperium posted the Legatus pack, a huge bundle pack that runs $27,000. That seems ridiculous, but it also includes a ridiculously huge number of ships – 117, in fact, with 163 extras (things like beacons, modules, posters, and additional models). If you’ve already got that much skin in the game, it might be worth consolidating into this package. If you’re new, it might take more effort; forumgoers have posted that the pack is visible only to people who have already paid $1000, so you’ll need to contact CS and tell them you have a pile of money ready to go. 5 lovely game songs to soothe the mind, settle the stomach, fall asleep to when your  body’s on the mend. Minecraft – Sweden Back during my early days of playing Minecraft, I happened to chance upon a zombie pit while digging for coal in the side of a mountain. Because this was on Blue Kae’s multiplayer server back when all of us were still invincible, I was able to rid the place of the undead rather painlessly, plant my torches around the spawning pen and loot the treasure box at my leisure. Amidst its contents, I found a record. Of course, it was another handful of days or so before I found the diamond block necessary for the (literal) centerpiece of my jukebox. I stuck it in, and the synthetic and upbeat “Cat” began to play. I think working on my in-game beachfront property to this tune is what made me fall in love with C418 and Minecraft music.
