While we may only faintly remember Trials of Ascension: Exile for a pair of failed Kickstarter campaigns back in 2015, the hardcore fantasy sandbox nevertheless has persevered in development to the point where the title went into Steam early access last month. The game is perhaps most notable for the fact that, along with playing as a boring human, you can adventure through the world as a web-spinning spider or a flame-spitting dragon. It’s a survival game at heart, so expect a lot of crafting, building, and (presumably) dying. Speaking of dying, one of the server options is to allow permadeath, a feature that the team feels is desirable to certain players. The Elder Scrolls Online will be heading to Elsweyr, the home of the Khajiit, for the next chapter in the epic fantasy MMORPG. “[. . .] in this new adventure, you can fully experience the home of Tamriel’s beloved cat people. In Elsweyr, you can traverse both fertile grasslands and scorching deserts, interact with moon-sugar farmers and wandering nomads, or confront merciless Imperial occupiers and roaming bandits. In this new Chapter, you can truly dive into the life, history, culture, and mythology of the Khajiit and their homeland.” Dragons will also be making their first appearance in the game when Elsweyr rolls out, along with the highly-awaited Necromancer class. The Elder Scrolls Online Public Test Server today. Elsweyr is the latest chapter in ESO and the second part of the year-long Season of the Dragon adventure. The chapter opens up the Khajiit homeland to adventurers, introduces the new Necromancer class, the new Sunspire Trial, and of course, dragons! “Practicing necromancy in Tamriel is a criminal act. In most cases, mages caught casting necromantic spells can feign ignorance or insist that the spell originates from a different school of magic. Some spells, however, are too horrific to overlook.
