As an avid gaming fan, I am still seething at the nasty treatment Konami gave Hideo Kojima when they forced him out of the company. Still, the Japanese developer holds some rather popular franchises, such as Castlevania. Currently at Tokyo Game Show, Konami revealed a new trailer for the mobile game, Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls, first revealed back in April 2018. The story goes that Genya Arikado (official English name), a shadow within the Japanese government, received a warning that the “grimoires have awakened” and thus foreshadowing the rebirth of Dracula after many years of peace and prosperity. As the main narrator, Genya Arikado sets forth to investigate. However, there is an official screenshot provided by Konami which potentially leaked a storyline. With new content just revealed at Tokyo Game Show recently, developer Konami has already soft-launched Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls in Canada a couple of days back. If you did not know, soft-launch phase for mobile games is a test period where developers make sure gamers in the selected area are happily playing (and paying) for the game before having a wider official launch. We are not really fond of Castlevania’s reputation of thrashing new players, but nevertheless we decided to hop in for a quick look. Read on! Similar to Rockman X DiVE, there isn’t automatic gameplay found anywhere, which is likely a huge relief to many fans of the Castlevania series. 4Story was once a much-hyped fantasy PC MMORPG which had quite a sizable community, but like most Free-to-Play titles its popularity waned over the years. The English server is still running though, now under Gameforge. But that is not the game we are talking about here, as its developer Zemi Interactive recently announced… well, you guessed it, a mobile version of the MMORPG! Titled 4Story: Age of Heroes, it is an action RPG where players hunt solo until unlocking multiplayer modes such as real-time PVP and real-time boss raids. According to the official press release, 4Story: Age of Heroes offers Explore, Battleground, Conquest, Raid, Lord Sanctuary, Kaya Tower, Duel, Smash and Super Smash. Following a successful pre-registration phase, game publisher GameNow has announced that the Closed Beta test for its much-anticipated mobile MMOPRG, MU Origin 2, will take place immediately in major SEA countries. Players can download the game from Google Play and App Store to witness the next epic adventure in the continent of MU.
