Note: Rest assured, no spoilers until the second half of the post, after the warning and the image. It’s been a busy week, but somehow I managed to find the time to play the Dragon Age: Origins – Witch Hunt DLC. In preparation I had allotted myself ample time, but in hindsight, I need not have bothered. It was so…short. The whole thing couldn’t have taken me longer than 2 hours to complete, even with a few breaks in between. Granted, I have never before purchased any DLC for this game so I have nothing to compare it against, but for $7 I had expected a longer campaign. Issue of length aside, I’m not disappointed, but I’m not impressed either. I’m frustrated by its mediocrity more than anything else, considering the fact Witch Hunt was proclaimed as the final DLC for Origins. The gameplay felt needlessly rushed and took us to many areas that were previously seen before, reused for this campaign. The story behind the adventure itself was … [Read more...] about Dragon Age: Origins – A Run Of The Mill “Witch Hunt”

Dragon Commander: Divinity
A Cursed Bread Maker Last night we recorded our thirteenth episode of AggroChat. In various cultures the number thirteen can be either a positive or a negative, and going into the show I was not quite certain how that would shake out. Apparently for us however, thirteen is a very unlucky number. Last week Ash, Kodra and Tam were off hanging out together, and one of the activities was to build Kodra a brand new machine. All of this time we thought his intermittent problems were related to running on six year old hardware. Apparently whatever demons infested his previous machine have jumped ship and are now residing in the new one. We had trouble keeping him online and when he was online he seemed to have issues broadcasting. All of that aside I think we had a pretty good show last night. We talked about a hole bunch of topics including Tomb Raider and the fact that I maybe just maybe finally enjoy narrative gaming experiences. We also talk … [Read more...] about Dragon Commander: Divinity
Mass Effect 2 Companions: Gotta Catch ’em All!
Yes, that’s right. I made a Pokemon reference. Warning: The following post contains spoilers for Mass Effect 2 (and to a lesser extent, Mass Effect 1). You have been warned! Areas covered: The Convict, The Krogan, Horizon, The Quarian, The Assassin, The Justicar My adventures with Mass Effect 2 continued over the last two days as Shepard travels all over the galaxy recruiting her team for the final mission against the enemy. Three days of playing under my belt and I’m still not done getting them all (yep, this is going to be a loooong game)! And wow, what a great bunch of characters. I’m already frustrated that I only ever get to take up to two of them with me out on missions. I did notice one thing as I was playing. So far, Mass Effect 2 is fitting the “formula” that their other games tend to follow, i.e. completing the initial mission, followed by going to 3 or 4 different places before going to a final destination, which then culminates in an … [Read more...] about Mass Effect 2 Companions: Gotta Catch ’em All!
Grinding Gear into Plasteel
Ready for a Freeze The last few weeks my allergies have been killing me, and this is not usually the case for fall here in Oklahoma. It feels like the seasons are getting horribly confused, and ragweed that normally hits its worst during July has been still active in August and October. As such my lungs have decided to betray me under the onslaught, and yesterday afternoon I ended up going home from work. I took a few breathing treatments and got some sleep and this morning I feel marginally better, but still on the scale of “lousy”. Right now I am just read for the first hard freeze to happen and kill off most of the allergens. Sadly that doesn’t look like it is going to happen any time soon. The temperature is dipping down today to the 60s, but otherwise we are still having 70 to 80 degree days. The constant drainage and coughing just makes me want to stay inside and hibernate. Thankfully right now I have a ton of good … [Read more...] about Grinding Gear into Plasteel

The Nintendo Switch is turning out to be a neat little portable console, featuring a ton of great games in its roster already. Besides the Nintendo exclusives like the Mario games, Legend of Zelda and SmashBros, third party publishers have also been contributing some immense titles. Take for example, Bethesda. The Switch received a huge boost when Skyrim was announced as the first open world RPG to be on the console, and it plays great. Naysayers point out validly that TES V is a 7 year old game, but now we’ve got 2016’s Doom and the new Wolfenstein game on it too. What does this mean? It means the Switch has the potential to bring more great games to the roster, and here are our top 5 most wanted games on the Nintendo Switch. 5. The Sims 4 The Nintendo Switch has some great variety of games across all genres. One of the most popular ones feature simulation. Think Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon. But it lacks the big human simulator which only The Sims franchise can … [Read more...] about 5 Awesome Games We Want To See On Nintendo Switch
