In the late hours of December 11, 2018, Jeremy Hambling from The Quartering YouTube channel exceeded all expectations and managed to raise $132K from fans in a mere 14 days for a new gaming website that promises to be free of the suffocating yoke of politics. The site will be called Exclusively Games. In recent months, Jeremy has been a truth teller and a rare voice of sanity and reason in the gaming community and because of that, he’s been attacked by social justice warriors both in person and online. Here’s some info about his new site from his Indiegogo funding site: My only goal is to create a place for fans of escapism. This website will provide a forum, videos and articles covering topics related to just about everything gaming with just one rule, NO POLITICS! We’ll cover video games, coin-op, retro, card games, tabletop games & everything in between. Exclusively Games is a space for fans of all sorts of games. Bookahneer’s Geekwatch (June 2018): New games and E3
Do you know when we had our last Bookahneer’s Geekwatch? In September 2016! To be honest, I actually forgot I had this column and whenever I had a few gaming things that got me excited, I thought: Nah, that’s not worth a whole blog post. But that’s exactly what this column is for, after all. I have been really busy in “real life” and will continue being so from now on. All is good, though, except that I don’t have as much gaming time as I would like to have. Naturally, now there are and have been several sales for games that I have been wanting to get and I couldn’t resist! When it comes to games, I am apparently a hoarder. But when a game costs only 2 € and I want it, I just can’t resist. “Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition” was such a sale. I don’t remember the exact price I paid for it, but it was cheap. A member from our pen and paper roleplaying group had recommended the game to me as it’s apparently … [Read more...] about Bookahneer’s Geekwatch (June 2018): New games and E3
Rise of the Pre-Pre-E3 Press Conference News
It’s getting to feel a lot like Christmas. As in that gaming news keeps clawing its way earlier and earlier on the calendar. Back when I was a kid, it was all about CES. Then the gaming industry started its own show so it wouldn’t be lumped in with TVs and Camcorders called E3. Then the REAL news started showing up before E3 at Press Conferences. Finally, here we are two weeks before E3 and the game industry is throwing out announcements and teasers like they were 8 month old spaghetti you found in some Tupperware in the back of the top shelf of the fridge that you can never see all the way unless you crouch down so you forget things back there a lot and oh hey we DID have butter! Anyway, let’s get into it. Fallout 76 What we know: Fallout 76 is being developed by Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Game Studios Austin (Formerly BattleCry Studios). We know its set in Vault 76, one of VaulTec’s “Control Vaults” that … [Read more...] about Rise of the Pre-Pre-E3 Press Conference News
– Milla Jovovich set to star in movie adaptation of video game franchise
[Source] Taking a break from the normal industry and direct gaming news, it was recently confirmed that Milla Jovovich, the main actress of the Resident Evil movie series, will once again star in a movie based on a Capcom franchise, this time being Monster Hunter. You might be shocked at the news, but the Resident Evil movies did earn hundreds of millions globally. The last movie grossed over USD 300 million based on a budget of USD 40 million. Led by Germany-based Constantin Film (also behind the Resident Evil movies), the Monster Hunter movie will reunite Milla Jovovich with director Paul W. S. Anderson and producer Jeremy Bolt, although it seems Anderson will not be the director. Constantin Film will partner on the movie with “a big company” in Japan and another in China, both taking equity in the project. A Resident Evil reboot is also being planned behind the scenes. … [Read more...] about – Milla Jovovich set to star in movie adaptation of video game franchise
