The latest Destiny 2 - This Week at Bungie newsletter has been posted with some great news for Guardians. When the v1.2.3 update launches on Tuesday, July 17th, players will find that 6v6 will be making its way to Quickplay and that Bounties, aka daily objectives, will be making a return. Tyson Green: With the original launch of Destiny, bounties provided a set of daily objectives that players could use to advance faction reputation or earn XP to level up their gear. These were removed to streamline the activity experience in Destiny 2 and reduce the number of “chores” that players felt compelled to complete every day. In retrospect, we realized that was an over-correction, and optional daily objectives to achieve specific goals are something we want to restore. The letter also points out other significant features coming in Tuesday's update including: Quality of Life Improvements - PC Clan Chat; momentum removed from Heroic Adventures; etc. Exotic … [Read more...] about 6v6 Quickplay Coming in Tuesday’s Update & Bounties Making a Return
As we all tuned into the Game Awards last night, we were thrown a few new trailers to get all excited about for releases coming out in the future. One of the most anticipated trailers came from From Software, the cryptic team behind the Dark Souls series, as well as Bloodborne and Tenchu. From Software are certainly sticking to their enigmatic reputation by keeping their cards close to their chest in this instance. The quote that is displayed in the trailer, “Shadows die twice,” is a quote from the third Tenchu sequel, which is uttered by the game’s villain, which points all signs to a brand new Tenchu game. This will be a source of disappointment for some, … [Read more...] about Tenchu Could Be Making A Return After From Software Teaser
Play RIFT for freeIt has been a month since that fateful day back in March when the MMO collectively lost its mind by rushing back to play a seven-year-old game as if it was new again. I was among the crowd that eagerly signed up for a month’s subscription to try my hand at RIFT’s very first progression server, Vigil (or as I will always be mistyping it, Virgil). It was, in a word, bizarre. It was bizarre to see such enthusiasm for an MMO that many had abandoned or forgotten about. It was bizarre to see beginner zones packed with players — several of whom were completely new to the game — doing quests and rifts like it was the first days all over again. It was bizarre for me to be this excited about playing a game that I have played many times over the past seven years. Now we’re a month in, the initial hype is past, and some reflection and evaluation is required. Is RIFT Prime still worth playing? What’s going on with the progression schedule? How … [Read more...] about Making my way through RIFT Prime’s progression server
If you had to put it into writing what makes a game great, could you? A countless number of games that many across the industry consider outstanding but of course this is subjective to the individual but what makes a great game stand out? Let’s take a look at some of the most popular titles as of late. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (2011) First impressions are what make a memorable game stand out, and this is no exception. A slow and methodical introduction reaches an unexpected twist as you’re patiently waiting for your head to be removed from its body but fate enters you in the form of a dragon. Fire rains down, you attempt to escape, and your adventure begins and what transpires an open world quest for knowledge, a fantastic game much like Betvictor and an excellent introduction to Skyrim. BioShock (2007) Who knew gene splicing could be so fun? While your journey in Rapture is one of mystery and suspense, nothing can quite prepare you for your interaction with a ‘Big … [Read more...] about What makes a game great?
