[Game website] MapleStory 2 has not been doing very well in South Korea and even China, and there were concerns that plans for a Western launch might be cancelled. However, new content has always been regularly added in the Asian servers over the years, and recently the English website for MapleStory 2 was revealed by Nexon America, signalling the game’s launch later this year. Will the picky Western audience react more positively to this sequel? Yes, there is IP block implemented. If you are from Asia, your country might most probably be blocked from accessing this English version under Nexon America, especially Southeast Asia. [Game website] Nexon America today announced that MapleStory 2, an all-new MMORPG adventure set within the original MapleStory universe, will officially launch on October 10, 2018 (US time). Ahead of the launch, Mushking Royale Pre-Season will open from August 22, 2018 until October 1, 2018, which will allow players to create characters and reserve names before official launch. Do note that MapleStory 2 is only playable in the following countries. With a colorful 3D block universe, MapleStory 2 is one of the most creative and customizable MMORPGs available on the market today. Nexon America posted a job for a Localization Coordinator this last week, which further strengthens my theory that MapleStory 2 is set to be announced for a Western release on April 14th, 2018 during the first ever MapleStory fest.
