A massive shake-up has come to Tree of Savior with its latest update, the scope of which is suggested by its official title — Re:Build. The patch, which went live a couple of days ago, not only brought some huge overhauls to the game’s existing class and rank systems but also introduced new endgame raid content. One of the main focuses of the update was the retooling of the game’s class trees. In addition to shuffling some classes into different trees — some classes that formerly belonged to the Wizard progression tree now belong to the Swordsman tree, for instance — the update also introduced the all-new Scout tree, which is comprised of 10 classes formerly found in the game’s original four trees plus two all-new classes, the Outlaw and the Assassin. On top of that, there have also been some major changes to the game’s rank system, through which characters can progress from the base classes to more advanced ones. In the new system, the devs … [Read more...] about Tree of Savior introduces class progression overhauls and new raids in Re:Build update

A massive update rolled out globally for World of Tanks: Mercenaries on Console today to celebrate 17 million players. This ‘Trajectory’ view comes alongside the bird’s eye view and allows players to have a camera lower to the ground and rotate to follow the trajectory of the tank’s shell. Whatever happened to Divergence Online, Tree of Life, and Eternal Crusade?
Ever pause during your day and find yourself wondering, “Whatever happened to that game?” With hundreds upon hundreds of online titles these days, it’s surprisingly easy for MMOs to fall through the cracks and become buried as more aggressive or active games take the spotlight. Well, every so often we here at Massively Overpowered find ourselves curious what has transpired with certain MMOs that we haven’t heard from in quite a while. Have we missed the action and notices? So what’s been going on with Divergence Online, Tree of Life, and Eternal Crusade? Boy, does this one dredge back up some memories — mostly of news and not of actual … [Read more...] about Whatever happened to Divergence Online, Tree of Life, and Eternal Crusade?

The world of Wild Terra is enshrouded in darkness as the 9.55 Halloween Update hits. The land is overflowing with evil, and pumpkins are growing with horrific speed. Players can make Jack-o’-lanterns to help dispel evil from the trees, but players should be advised to take friends. These Unholy trees will not be dispelled so easy. But defeating three waves of Infernal animals will also net players a Demonic Chest, which has a wealth of unique prizes in it. In the Events section of the Auction appeared prizes that can be obtained by exchanging them for the Brains of the zombie animals. It’s can be obtained from all cursed monsters. Those Jack-o’-lanterns can also be mounted on each other, to build poles. If the brain of cursed animals and fertilizers are added to the Jack Pillar, then in time it will turn into a Zombie Pumpkin! In addition, Wild Terra will be available for 75% until November 5th. Wild Terra Halloween Event Cosmetics: … [Read more...] about Wild Terra’s 9.55 Halloween Update Launches Alongside a Huge Sale
Perfect Ten: MMORPGs with huge class rosters
After talking with Mark Jacobs the other week about the difficulty of balancing Camelot Unchained’s 30 classes, it got my mind thinking of MMOs that don’t merely stop with a half-dozen or so classes in their roster. It seems like having a wide array of class choices used to be in vogue early on in the industry but has since been abandoned for a smaller field of archetypes that are easier to manage. Me? I love choices, particularly with classes. My interest in a game gets a shot in the arm if I have a lot of prospects for alts — the more, the better. So I started drawing up a list of MMOs with large class rosters and decided to make it into a full-blown column. For the purpose of today’s list, I’m not counting skill-based MMOs (which could be considered as hosting infinite classes). Also, for games that allow a measure of mix-and-matching between classes, I’m counting only the actual classes or powersets available, not the total number of permutations … [Read more...] about Perfect Ten: MMORPGs with huge class rosters
