Yep, today’s Star Wars: The Old Republic update is November’s edition of Fan Friday — a community feature that showcases things like fan creations, game concept art, new avatars and a small Developer Corner. Except today’s developer insights have been expanded into a Studio Insider article, giving us a closer look at some of the creative processes behind the game. Today, concept artist Diego Almazan details the processes behind creating a set of Flesh Raiders. If I recall correctly, these are the brutal marauders your Jedi will have to fight on your starting planet of Tython. Also included in the update is a new Community Q & A section. Couldn’t have come at a better time, if you ask me. The recent string of Friday updates have garnered a wide range of comments, complaints and praise. For some fans, an information downswing can lead to disappointment and frustration rather than much needed revelation. Going by the reaction on the forums for those … [Read more...] about Flesh Raiders Sound So Dirty To Me
When building your blog, it’s usually tempting to get sidetracked by all the noise of the creation process in a quest to create the best looking blog on the internet. But if you do this, you’ll end up forgetting about some of the most important elements of a blog. Having a good looking blog is crucial because it will display your professionalism. But it’s not always the main thing that determines how professional a blog is, especially when you’re just starting. For example, if you have the world’s most beautiful blog but your content sucks, the design means nothing. Your blog design might be good at attracting people to the blog, but your poorly written content will always drive them away as soon as they arrive. While having a good looking blog filled with great content is important, that’s also not where you should channel your focus while starting; there’s one critical element of a blog that is almost always neglected, and … [Read more...] about The 11 Best About Me Pages On The Internet
Guest posting is the buzzword these days and few days back I heard Harsh mentioned in one of his posts that ever since Penguin happened he has been getting a large number of guest posting requests everyday. While this may be a good thing for any ordinary blogger, for the top notch bloggers it becomes a headache. At the time of publishing my first guest post there were 43 others in queue here at ShoutMeLoud, many of them rejected for reasons such as irrelevant content, poor readability and many other factors. Despite having passed all such meters of guest blogging on a premier blog which teaches “ How to blog” I failed in getting enough visits. My guest post was titled “5 blogging lessons you learnt at school”. While it was ok, it was nothing out of the ordinary. The post just told about the H2 tags, keyword research and plain old stuff in a new light. Since there were not many errors, and the post scored on readability and a little bit of SEO it got published … [Read more...] about What Did Getting Less Traffic from My First Guest Post Taught me
I just seen Harsh revealed his Monthly Earning Report after a long time, and I don’t know about others but I keep visiting SML around early days of every month just to check his Monthly earning report. Talking about Harsh, I have seen him becoming a professional blogger from a full-time orkut Geek, has become an inspiration for me. We had a discussion when he was moving to a paid host Dreamhost, and I said why to pay for hosting when you can get it for free. He clearly said he want to do it professionally now and he made ShoutMeLoud after success of his first blogspot blog virgintech.blogspot.com ( I hope I typed the right address ). Coming to the point, when I seen his Monthly earning report about a year back, I found “You can earn from affiliates as well”. Not only this I used to track his last month earning and current month earning to see how its growing and many times I calculated % increase as well :D. I was making about 20-40$ a month from adsense about 1 and … [Read more...] about How SML Earning Report Inspired me to Make Money Online
We often encounter a beautiful, fancy homepage with a nice-looking “Services” page and a nice-looking “Contact Me” page. But when you click on “About Me”, you find an awful and loosely written page. Of the many elements of a website, the “About Me” page is among the most important. Why should you have an awesome “About Me” page? 1. It defines the personality of the blog. An “About Me” page is the foundation of your site. This single page tells the reader about you — who you are, what you do, and what your blog is all about. It contains some important information about your website, service, or organization. This is a page where you tell the readers about your company, and the place where you describe your achievements and strong points. For example, a company’s “About Us” page should contain the following information: When the was the company founded. Where the company is located. The … [Read more...] about What Is The Importance Of An “About Me” Page For A Blog?
