The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr is the next Chapter of ZeniMax Online Studios’ award-winning online RPG, The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO). For the first time since 1994’s The Elder Scrolls: Arena, players and their friends will trek the arid plains as well as the skooma-producing grasslands of Elsweyr, the homeland of the cat-like khajiit race. The all-new adventure brings with it the Season of the Dragon, introducing the commanding winged beasts to ESO for the first time. In this journey, you’re no Dragonborn, so you’ll need to work with your fellow heroes and powerful allies to take the dragons down and protect Tamriel from the ever-present fire-breathing threat. The Season of the Dragon is a year-long interconnected adventure for the epic and award-winning ESO story, spanning all four updates in 2019, including the Wrathstone DLC dungeon pack which has already dropped, the Elsweyr Chapter, the Q3 DLC dungeon pack, and the Q4 Story DLC. Along with the … [Read more...] about ESO 2019: Is Elsweyr Going To Be Elder Scrolls Online’s Best Expansion Ever?
Introducing cat to new home
Distractions This morning is not going how I expected to go in the least. About 3 am a massive storm blew in, and with it thunder, lightning and torrential rains. This of course woke me up, because rain sometimes means bad things. We have some issues with our wooden siding right now, and it is causing two leaks to happen when the rain is particularly vigorous. We have contracted someone to come out and fix all of this… but that won’t happen until sometime in September when their next available slot is. In the meantime each time it rains I either dread the potential for a leak, or like last night have to listen to the constant dripping from the top of our bedroom window. Needless to say I did not exactly get an amazing nights sleep after that all started. As a result I have been moving around this morning extremely sluggish and easily distracted. I set out with the simple mission earlier of trying to find out what my Wizard 101 … [Read more...] about Remote Gaming
I realize this is a lot of images to link at the beginning of a blog post… but there is a good reason. For the last four years playing Elder Scrolls Online I had a singular goal… to see something in the live game that I have not seen since one of the last days of alpha. I’ve talked about this before but I have been playing Elder Scrolls Online since February of 2013 when the first Friends and Family alphas began. How I got in is because my good friend Tamrielo was one of the creators of a not insignificant amount of the quest content. Every so often in Alpha we would be lead by him to go see something… that was a reference to one of us or one of our friends. One of the final things I remember is running all of the way across the Ebonheart Pact area to The Rift…. and Nimalten to be specific to see an arrangement of NPCs in that town. The date specifically was October 13th of 2013 as I have a stack of … [Read more...] about A Four Year Mission
A Game of Fetch This is Kenzie and she is a mess. I am not sure how else to describe her, because she is unlike any other cat we have shared a home with. She can be the biggest butt ever, and a bit of a bully to the other cats… but she can also be the sweetest and most adorable animal you have ever seen. She sort of vacillates between being an angel and a devil sometimes within the same moment. She likes to help with the laundry… and as you can see here sometimes crawl under the upturned laundry basket. She also gets super obsessive about certain things… for example I really like Red Velvet Muffins from QuikTrip… and apparently so does she. I can wrap up one of the muffin wrappers in several layers and she will go spelunking through the trash can in search of it. When she finally gets it… it is not like she eats it but more certainly rips it to shreds. Another similar obsession is twist ties and … [Read more...] about Rubber Band Thief
The early access days of Conan Exiles are coming to a close. In less than a month, the survival sandbox will launch. At that time players will get to explore two new regions, experience the new combat, farm, dive into two new dungeons, worship a new god, and summon her avatar on the live servers. But luckily for me, I didn’t have to wait! I joined Creative Director Joel Bylos in the game for few hours of hands-on experience with the new features, then got to keep playing for the evening. After a farming demonstration and a quick tour of the volcano, I got to witness a Purge, watch the brand-new starter cinematic, wander around the swamp and climb into treehouses, participate in a siege, look over the new attributes and perks, parade around in new armor, and test out the new combat with all the weapon types. My impressions in a nutshell? Most of the additions really up the fun factor and improve the game (the jury is still out on the eating-to-heal mechanic). I’m pretty … [Read more...] about Hands-on with Conan Exiles’ launch build: Farming, frolicking in the swamp, and other feature fun
