Last week finally kicked off the lead-up quests for Battle for Azeroth, giving us content-starved players something to do. It’s too bad that it was, all in all, not that interesting in the least, nor beneficial for advancement or rewards. If you’re going to have story for story’s sake, it’s pretty important to make that tale count. I can tell already that the story — at least the initial “phantom menace” tale of Alliance vs. Horde — is not going to be anywhere near as interesting as Legion’s conflict. I feel like I speak for a lot of World of Warcraft players when I say that the factional friction doesn’t matter and hasn’t mattered for a long time now. Blizzard is twisting itself up in knots to try to reignite this feud, and nobody’s really buying it. SPOILER: This whole expansion is going to be about the Old Gods. I know it, you know it, everyone knows it. So why go through this facade? Why remind us how fickle … [Read more...] about World of Warcraft features Elf fights!

World of Warcraft: Tips For Allied Races Argus Rep Grind (Lightforged Dranei and Void Elf) With less than 20 days to go before Battle for Azeroth arrives, the races is on to unlock Allied Races. The new expansion offers 8 new playable races in total, 4 for each faction. Right now, players can already unlock the Highmountain Tauren, Nightborne Elf, Lightforged Dranei and Void Elf. This tip article will primarily cover how to unlock the Alliance faction races, as it is definitely a longer grind compared to the Horde’s races. Also important to note, this guide is specifically meant to help new players and returning players who want to start the unlocks with less than a month to go. Requirements How does one unlock the Alliance’s allied races? For the Lightforged Dranei and Void Elf, you will need to reach Exalted reputation with both Army of the Light and the Argussian Reach. These are the two factions on Argus – the final questing zone in the Legion Expansion. For new … [Read more...] about World of Warcraft: Tips For Allied Races Argus Rep Grind (Lightforged Dranei and Void Elf)
There is just no way to smoothly mesh this Frankenstein assortment of World of Warcraft stories together, so hang tight — abrupt transitions ahead. Why not start with the “of course, that makes perfect sense” account of Blizzard sponsoring a Horde vs. Alliance Lucha Libre AAA Mexican wrestling battle this past weekend? Around 10 or so wrestlers fought for either the red or the blue side that was broadcast over Twitch. The winners? Everyone who watched. As Battle for Azeroth approaches in a few short weeks, there is plenty of opportunity to be completely spoiled with the story if you so desire. Icy Veins has compiled both the Alliance and Horde cutscenes (although the videos are missing some clips that haven’t been included in the beta yet), and you know, if you don’t mind spoiling the story, you can go watch them. Then if we’re going back in time to talk about the Warcraft movie — why not? — Director Duncan Jones shared some of the cut … [Read more...] about World of Warcraft: Mexican wrestling, movie cuts, and Battle for Azeroth story spoilers
World of Warcraft earlier today unleashed Battle for Azeroth’s pre-patch, 8.0 to the world. The patch introduces a bunch of changes and tweaks, especially for combat and class which you can read about here. For returning and current players though, the one thing that needs immediate attention are addons. Addons help improve gameplay for a lot of folks that play WoW, and not having them enabled after years of use feels odd. Luckily, some of these addon developers have been working on updates since BFA hit the PTR. Here are a few of the ones that are usable with Patch 8.0. 1. Deadly Boss Mods Perhaps most of you will be relieved to know that DBM is updated and ready for use. Deadly Boss Mods is a universally loved addon by all WoW players who run dungeons, Mythics and raids. The addon calls out danger in addition to offering visual queues for fight mechanics. It’s a great tool for both the new player and the veteran. Download: … [Read more...] about World of Warcraft: Top 5 Updated Addons For Patch 8.0
Don’t fear the darkness, fear my shoulderpads! I think I’ve arrived at a good place for the big expansion reset in World of Warcraft. No last-minute leveling or frantic goal-reaching for me. Instead, I’ve figured out my roster of characters going forward and have gotten them each to a place where they’re ready for Patch 8.0. Right now, this roster is: Death Knight Syppy (above), which I would consider my “main” through all of Legion and going into BFA Hunter Syppi, casual Gnome adventurer with an affinity for attack squirrels Warlock Lilaca, my sole Horde character who will take me through content on that side Additionally, I have plans for two allied races when I unlock them: Kul Tiran Druid, because how can you not want to make one of these? Dark Iron Dwarf Priest, as I kind of dig their looks and want to try out Disc That right there is way more than enough to keep me occupied over the next two years. But what about the next month? Word is … [Read more...] about World of Warcraft: On standby for Patch 8.0
