The launch of the latest patch for Shroud of the Avatar has not come without its problems. After maintenance was complete, developers came back to the official site to announce that it would be rolling servers back to the pre-patch status in order to give it another go. As of this writing, the restart / relaunch of Update 56 is now live. According to the developer note on the SotA site, the rollback was necessary when a step was inadvertently skipped. Data migration for brewing was not completed which would have resulted "in a corrupted state unless" a rollback was completed. Kakao and Pearl Abyss have been touting Black Desert’s 10M players number for a while now, but it’s popping the bubbly now with a big event that essentially grants the game to newcomers for free with just a few hoops along the way. “New adventurers can earn a free copy of Black Desert Online by completing the 7-day trial challenge. Players who start playing Black Desert Online between the 3rd of October up until the 17th of October, reach level 56 on a character and complete that character’s awakening quest before their 7-day trial expires will be rewarded with a free Starters Package.” Starter packs are currently worth about 10 bucks, just note that the promo won’t work through Steam. The hour fast approaches to conclude the Stormblood story and lead into Shadowbringers in Final Fantasy XIV. With the launch of v4.56 for Final Fantasy XIV, players will see the events of the Stormblood expansion come to a close as the stage is set for the Shadowbringers expansion coming July 2nd. Players will find more adventures with Hildibrand, enjoy some new emotes, earn new items and those at end game can take part in an 8-player fight against Yojimbo. Between now and the July release of Shadowbringers, more features and content will be released including a FFXV crossover event on April 16th. Patch 4.56 brings the gripping conclusion to the Stoormblood Main Scenario of Final Fantasy XIV, as well as a new chapter for Hildibrand. This update also brings new beast tribe quests, furnishings, and Kugane Ohashi‘s trial. This new trial requires the quest “Good Swords, Good Dogs” and is an eight-player trial where they must do battle with Yojimbo of Final Fantasy X fame. New Beast Tribe Quests were also added in Kugane, that begin with the East Aidenard Trading Company Assistant. There are also amazing new furnishings to add to your homes. Those who completed “The Face of War” quest can now tackle “A Brief Reprieve”, which will lead to the culmination of the Stormblood story, which will set up events for Shadowbringers, coming a little later this year.
