Developed by Runewaker Entertainment, Runes of Magic is a classical, free-to-play MMORPG which could be accused of being a World of Warcraft clone. There are, however, a number of very interesting features which make it a viable alternative to Blizzard’s masterpiece whilst maintaining some originality. Your first steps of a player’s journey is to create a character and assign a race and class. Runes of Magic contains three races (Human, Dwarf and Elf) and has eight classes, each of which are suited to varying styles of game play. The Brunt of the Journey Like any good MMORPG, in order to gain XP and acquire new skills you must complete quests, which are given to players by NPC’s who are marked on the mini-map by a yellow exclamation mark. Quests are fairly standard fare and usually involve traveling to a location, collecting or killing a certain number of objects or hostile NPC’s before … [Read more...] about Runes of Magic Review 2018 – Is This Classic MMORPG Worth Playing?

Now that we’ve had all the fun cards from the Standard Meta in for a while now in Magic the Gathering: Arena, I’ve been branching out the kinds of decks I put together to use and try to get back on the climb. A lot of my inspiration comes from seeing cards in matches and trying to figure out what to do with them. Some of my inspiration comes from getting absolutely walloped by a deck and figuring out ways to make it better/make it work for me. Just remember, copying a deck you find online won’t make you win or make you good with it. You need to understand why a deck works, what exactly makes it a success in order for it to be a success in your hands. Luckily, I’m pretty good at that, and I’m hoping that, through this column, I can help up and coming MTG players, or players in need of something new find what works for them. A definite runner up is the updates/changes to Red Deck Wins, because buddy, there is a lot of insane stuff in that now. … [Read more...] about Magic: the Gathering: Snake Way Deck (Black/Green)
Here’s an indie MMORPG that you may not have known about before this week. Legion: The Eternal War is a small title that’s been in development for a while by Nexus Division, but as of late the project seems to have picked up pace. The setting of the game involves a world where formerly united Elves and humans have become bitter enemies thanks to the introduction of magic by some sinister crystals into the world. “The game will be filled with entertaining stories, rewarding progression systems, and refined mechanics,” the team wrote. “All of this is presented to produce a memorable experience highlighted by social interaction and nail-biting tension.” The dev team is staking the game’s future on systems such as player housing, an expansive fantasy world, PvP, character customization, a wide array of magic, wars with guilds, and alliances. Last December, the team showed off a few prototypes of the different biomes that players might find in the … [Read more...] about Legion: The Eternal War’s evil magic pits Elves against Humans
