We’re not even to the first part of Bethsoft’s Fallout 76 roadmap, and it’s already hit a snag, but it is a truly minor snag: The studio is delaying patch 7 – Wild Appalachia – by one whole day. A day! “We are moving the release date of our first Wild Appalachia content back one day on all platforms,” the studio posted. “We just need a little more time to brew. Experience the new quest, crafting station, & much more starting now on March 13.” Yes, a whole extra day before you can dive into the video game kegger we promised you. In the meantime, check out the game’s Fasnacht Parade, the limited-time event quest kicking off next week (we assume that won’t be delayed). “You and any other dwellers who wish to take part must speak with the Master of Ceremonies in Helvetia and then divide and conquer to find and aid the town’s robotic shopkeepers in setting up for the annual parade. You and your compatriots … [Read more...] about Fallout 76’s Wild Appalachia update is delayed by a day, but here’s what’s in it

Players still awaiting more details on what’s happening to their MMORPGs following Gamigo’s buyout of Trion Worlds’ assets have finally received a blanket announcement, this time from the game’s new community manager and team. Interestingly, the post has been delivered to all five of the games, including Atlas Reactor, Defiance, and RIFT. Until now, the bulk of the updates have been for ArcheAge and Trove players alone. “We saw many questions asking about the future of these games,” CM AnneBonny writes. “Those questions are largely about new content, fixes to existing bugs, and the changes to the Trion staff members. For sure we kept the necessary resources to ensure that there is movement within and around the games. Generally speaking, we can tell you that the patch schedule is likely to shift somewhat, but we will make sure that all of you can enjoy new content on a regular basis. Also, the developers will continue providing you with updates … [Read more...] about Gamigo promises ‘new content on a regular basis’ to ArcheAge, RIFT, Trove, Defiance, and Atlas Reactor players
When Lord of the Rings Online announced its new progression server plan earlier this week, the LOTRO community immediately went into a state of puzzlement. See, the server does have that progression style popular with other Daybreak titles; it’ll begin with that launch-content experience and roll out the other expansions and zones as it goes. The catch is that it’s keeping all of the classes and traits and mechanics changes from the current game. If you were hoping for a less-bloated gameplay setup on the Legendary server, you aren’t getting that. You’re basically getting the current game, on a fresh subscription server, with all the players herded into a specific level-band. It’s not a bad thing, of course, but it did leave folks wondering whom, exactly, the new server is for. As Andang put it, it seems as if SSG is simply putting up a clean server for existing players wanting a new alt experience, rather than catering to fans hoping for a burst of … [Read more...] about The Daily Grind: Are you planning to give LOTRO’s new progression server a try?
Some mildly unfortunate news for Lord of the Rings Online players, as Standing Stone Games has announced that the game’s Autumn celebration, Harvestmath Fest, is going to be delayed “by a day or so” to allow the team to release “a necessary patch for this week.” The event was initially scheduled to begin today, October 16th, so players can probably expect it to arrive before the week is out. Don’t fret, though; the event will be extended to make up for the delay. When Harvestmath does roll around, players can look forward to all sorts of spooky, seasonal festivities: They can venture beneath the Party Tree into the Haunted Burrow to “complete daily quests, uncover traps, and solve riddles inside a haunted Hobbit fun-house,” earning them fall festival tokens that can be exchanged for Harvestmath-themed rewards. And of course, there will be the usual array of festive games, like pumpkin-picking, apple-bobbing, and more. Hopefully the delay … [Read more...] about Lord of the Rings Online’s Harvestmath Fest delayed ‘by a day or so’
