This newest episode of Battle Bards was a long time coming. Our past episodes have featured music from World of Warcraft before, but now finally we give the game its own show. Love the game, hate the game, no matter how you feel about it no one can deny WoW has one of the most expansive, diverse soundtracks out there. It’s a big game with a big track list, and it was tough but Syp, Syl and I managed to choose a few to feature out of the dozens upon dozens of tunes this game has to offer. Fear not if you don’t see your favorites, though, as WoW is definitely a game we’ll have to do as a theme again in the future. For myself, I have so many memories wrapped up in this game; from Vanilla WoW through all the expansions to Mists of Pandaria, so many of those moments are linked to the music. So join me and my fellow battle bards, and let’s talk the WoW soundtrack! LISTEN NOW Episode 14 show notes Introduction (including “Main Theme” from World of Warcraft … [Read more...] about Battle Bards Episode 14: World of Warcraft
Newest episode of pretty little liars
World of Warcraft is an epic tale of the struggle between two superpowers, each one wanting to dominate the other. On its surface, the story of war is “heroic” and one filled with the “courageous” actions of armies and mighty generals. What is often overlooked, however, are the effects of war on the “little people”, the countless, faceless millions who try to survive the ongoing divide. While it’s always up for debate how “good” the lore is in WoW, most people agree that there are timeless memorable stories that are told on a smaller scale. Over the next several articles. We’re going to take a look at some of the “Tales of the Little People”. Later we’ll look at some of the tragic stories that touch better-known characters and even examine some of the most gut-wrenching in-game memorials placed by Blizzard over the years. advertisement Pamela Redpath - Eastern PlaguelandsThe tragic events … [Read more...] about World of Warcraft: Tales of the Little People Part 1
Guild Wars 2’s newest living world episode seems to be grabbing the MMO community’s attention in a way that the season so far hasn’t. It is garnering quite a bit of praise, winning over even some of the game’s grumpier contingents. “In recent episodes I’ve gotten used to groaning or shaking my head at some of the sloppy dialog, in-jokes and all-round loose writing,” wrote MMO blogger Bhagpuss. “This time, so far, there’s been none of that. Everyone sounds like they’re taking it seriously for once, which doesn’t mean there’s no humor and no jokes but that those there are seem to derive — fairly convincingly — from the characters and the situation. It’s a relief.” Jeromai is equally effusive: “That’s perhaps the highest praise I can produce for whatever Anet is doing right in this episode, that I’m more happy to be playing and experiencing the content, than complaining or … [Read more...] about Global Chat: Does Guild Wars 2’s newest episode reach for the stars?
Get Guild Wars 2 Path of FireFinally! You can play the newest episode of Guild Wars 2’s Living Story! And by “play” we of course mean “attempt to play before an error hits you,” because that was unfortunately affecting a large number of players through yesterday. Anecdotal evidence points to the problems being focused around story instances and new zones, which you may recognize as being some of the biggest components to this particular update and the exact thing that players would be rushing to experience. The team is working on fixing the many bugs and issues that have cropped up, including one redirection from a quest’s intended directions to send players directly to Desert Highlands, hopefully bypassing a disconnection issue with the quest “Forewarned is Forearmed.” However the team is aware that this didn’t fix all of the issues, nor did it even fix all of the issues with that particular quest. So while these bugs will no doubt … [Read more...] about Guild Wars 2 deals with disconnections and progress-killing bugs for its latest episode
Get Guild Wars 2 Path of FireYou might have noticed it’s Tuesday, and there’s been no big trailer drop for the next Guild Wars 2 living world episode. That’s behind schedule if expected, given datamining, but ArenaNet has now acknowledged the delay all the same. “The Living World Team currently is hard at work preparing Episode 3 of Living World Season 4,” ArenaNet’s Mike Zadorojny writes through the community team on the official forums. “We’re excited about how it’s shaping up, but wanted to give you a heads up that the release date will be a little outside our normal release cadence.” If that looks like a fancy way of saying the episode is late, welp, have a gold star. But there’s a reason: “Our key focus while creating the Living World experience is the quality bar we’ve set for ourselves for each episode. With the amount of gameplay and breadth of content in Living World, we noticed that we had an … [Read more...] about The next episode of Guild Wars 2’s living world season has apparently been delayed
