I’m looking forward to putting some more time into these missions. If nothing else, they can hopefully help me dust off what little skills I had and maybe get me back into the game where I left off. I really like the idea of playing an Octoling girl, especially that pony tail hairstyle! 🙂 … [Read more...] about Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion
Octo expansion splatoon 2
It’s almost been a year since Nintendo released Splatoon 2 on the Nintendo Switch. The frequent Splatfests – casual tournaments that decide winners by popularity, singleplayer performance, and team-based performance – have seen interesting tweaks of late, like a longer-form, team-elimination format that eliminates a voting option while letting everyone continue playing. North America and Europe experienced this with a Ninja Turtles-themed event. … [Read more...] about It’s the battle of the cephalopods in Splatoon 2 as it pits squids against octopi for its birthday bash
How to deal with this, server outages, and perceived favoritism varies. Carlson felt that, at the least, you need to have some kind of compensation ready for those who are affected. Other CMs suggested to reward the player base as a whole, and I feel like I have to agree. As I’m getting into some mobile communities, being rewarded with, say, a longer event for everyone when I was affected isn’t half bad. “When you think about it, many other things we buy have increased in price over the last decade but AAA games are still expected to be a maximum of $60, with many of us waiting for sales (or for free-to-play). Meanwhile, games everywhere are adding shops, post-release content, and DLC galore with increasingly aggressive pricing models. How much of this is to make-up margins they can’t capture up-front? How much should an AA game cost in 2017? $75? $90? Is there a price point where lockboxes, gambling, and in-game stores could focus on value-add instead of survival? And how did we get here? Whose fault is it? And how do we get out of this, or is ‘would you like a game with your store’ the future as we know it?” … [Read more...] about Massively Overthinking: Are modern games too cheap?
