No story spoilers in this post of course, so let’s talk about the things that we know were going to be big in the DLC. First up, Abyssal Geysers. These are organic landscape content that can be found throughout the island, in six locations. And as I suspected, they function just like Dolmens in the base game regions. A spew of purple lights go up in the sky, indicating that things are about to get ugly. It’s also a signal for all players in the vicinity to converge on the spot to take down waves of monsters, and finally down a unique, random boss before looting the good stuff. The formula has existed before as I’ve mentioned, but this time around, the locations are different – in the sense that they usually take place by the beach. I’d mention the Russian mafia guys protecting me from an extra handsy dude at a dance club, but that one was more of a fun memory really, not a worst. My second instance (those others don’t count!) is the one that probably bothered me most. The problem came when they had two … [Read more...] about WRUP: Massively Overpowered new hero overview patch 5.3.2 edition
Worst: Summer Festival With each of the major festivals these days there is a centerpiece activity that serves as the main draw of the event — all except for the Summer Festival, which doesn’t really have one. It’s not a bad festival, it’s just one that is more reminiscent of how the game’s festivals used to be: a scattershot of quests and lesser activities without something amazing that really binds them together. I guess if you’re into fishing, this is the festival for you, but I almost never participate in it. … [Read more...] about LOTRO Legendarium: Ranking LOTRO’s festivals from worst to best
