I Finally Finished the Kingdom Hearts Series

· January 5, 2019 · Leave a Comment

As of last night my wife and I (I will now say "we") officially finished the Kingdom Hearts series! This is a huge accomplishment for us, and one we've been working on together for the past three year as we awaited the launch of Kingdom Hearts 3. If you're uninitiated, the first game originally came out in 2002 for the Playstation 2. The series has since expanded with games releasing on the DS, 3DS, PS3, and PS4.  Since their original launches, all of the games are now available in some form or another on the PS4, contained with the Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. (Links are to the official KH website) The Order to Play Kingdom Hearts Games The order we recommend for playing the Kingdom Hearts games is as follows, and this is the order we'll share our thoughts. Note that this is not the chronological order, but rather the order we feel the series presents itself best in, and the order where everything will make most sense -- if … [Read more...] about I Finally Finished the Kingdom Hearts Series

The Great PC Upgrade

· January 13, 2018 · Leave a Comment

About 4 or 5 years ago, I built the Angry Caretaker. Contained inside a tiny case was a monster of a PC, pairing a top-grade core i7 processor with NVidia’s latest graphics card. But, while it was fun to construct, the fiddly proportions made it tough to upgrade. If I wanted to replace anything, I usually had to pull several other parts out of the way first. It taught me a lot about working with confined spaces, but it just wasn’t practical. And so, I decided that my next build would be a step up in size, from mini ITX to micro ATX. The space would give me more room to move, and I’d also get more upgrade flexibility from the larger motherboards. Yes, it meant going for a larger case, but I figured the trade-off was worth it. Trouble is, while I’ve been watching the PC parts market for a few years now, I’ve not seen a compelling time to buy everything needed to upgrade. NVidia have made gains with graphics chips, but Intel’s latest processors are only … [Read more...] about The Great PC Upgrade

E3 Weekend Roundup: EA/Microsoft/Bethesda

· June 11, 2018 · Leave a Comment

It is that time again…  like Pete Smith said it is very much like rushing home to find the Sears Christmas Book sitting on your door step filled with toys you have never heard of and begin daydreaming about.  This is really the time of the year I look forward to the most when it comes to gaming information.  It is also the time of the year when I try and lock my excitement away in a box and guard myself against the fact that a lot of the promises that are being made won’t actually see the light of day.  Everyone holds a game in their memory that didn’t quite live up to that original announcement trailer.  That said it is still an insanely fun time to be a gamer and blogger…  and as is my tradition I sit down and write about the shows as I watch them. Electronic Arts – Saturday June 9th First up this E3 Season is the Electronics Arts conference which thankfully happened while I was gone at a family reunion.  I say … [Read more...] about E3 Weekend Roundup: EA/Microsoft/Bethesda
