6 HDMI Cables 1 USB Cable Elgato Capture Box HDMI Splitter (only certain ones work) HDMI Switch The Elgato comes with one HDMI cable and the necessary Micro to Full USB Cable. Like I said I got mine through a craigslist deal for $75 enabling this whole setup to work. So the only thing I was actually missing was the splitter. After doing a lot of research on the subject it seems like only a few splitters do what is needed. Thankfully the one I ordered and linked above is both tiny and works great. Ultimately I want to get some much shorter usb cables because right now… having all these 6 foot cables is a mess. Essentially you hook all of your game systems to the HDMI switch, and then hook the switch to an HDMI splitter, and then hook one of the two outbound ports to the Elgato. That then passes the signal to the television and your computer. You can download software from the Elgato website that does a decent job at capture, but I … [Read more...] about Recording Console Games

Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (1991) This game has a weird story, and will always have a special place in my heart. I had some pretty significant sinus surgery, and we picked this game up on the way home from the hospital. Laying in bed playing this game is essentially how I recovered and took my mind off the pain and constant grossness that was having to wear “nasal drip pads” after a sinus surgery. I remember when I first played it feeling like I was getting ripped off. The original Zelda had taken me months to beat, and here I was sitting at home and it seemed like I was just about to beat the game after only a few days of gameplay. I was getting to the point where I wanted to throw the controller at the screen for … [Read more...] about 15 Gaming Influences
You can use teleportation magic, stargates or temporary stargates made by yourself to travel. Some stargates are permanent and in fixed locations. This also means they can be camped. The fixed stargates are 2-way stargates. They go from A to B and back between different planets. stargates are not portals where you can enter at any time and go back at any time. You have to find the right resources to activate a stargate. After that, you'll have to perform a ritual. In some cases, this is tied to one of the gods. You can also open your own connection between planets but it will be considerably harder. It's a bit easier for Demons than for other races. It depends on where you're coming from and where you're going. Traveling between planets is easier for Demons, but it will still be hard for evil-aligned players, Demons included, to travel to Arboreus. Eclipses happen a couple of times a week. Other people can't use your stargates. Only you and your group. In general, most of the ways to … [Read more...] about Summary of the Survival & Travel Q&A livestream.
