It’s not often I play a mobile game and I say to myself, “Gee, this is not only fair, but it’s fun too,” but here I am in 2019 and pleased with a mobile card game, and it’s from Capcom to boot! Well, it’s partially from Capcom. Capcom and GungHo Online are teaming up to bring forth Teppen, an online mobile card game based on the Capcom properties, and Capcom’s treatment of their properties in the past genuinely had me worried. I just have to look back to the Marvel vs. Capcom series, and look no further. However, not only is this card game reasonable and easy to play, it has been incredibly generous with their packs (at least up to this point in time), so it’s easy to pick up. Teppen hasn’t received a lot of press or acknowledgment that I’ve seen, so let’s talk about it for a bit. What is Teppen? Teppen is a real-time strategy card game, set across a variety of Capcom properties. There aren’t a ton of characters … [Read more...] about Teppen Review – Capcom vs. Capcom Infinite

If you’d like to see a full match of Dota Underlords, an embed to one of mine is below. Auto Chess appears to be the New Cool Thing (TM), and in the span of a couple of weeks, there are now three potential Auto Chess games. There’s Auto Chess (by Drodo), Teamfight Tactics (Riot), and Dota Underlords (Valve). I’ll be honest – as soon as I saw Valve’s name on the product, I immediately felt trepidation. One of the comments about it I read though was “Artifact died for this?” and that’s one of the best things I could see – Artifact was awful, and if you don’t know why, go read my article here. I’ve got you covered. A little background: Auto Chess was a mod for Dota 2, made by a Chinese team, Drodo. But the queue times were long, a lot of calls of it being unbalanced were heard, and Valve decided to try and work with them to make their own Auto Chess. They couldn’t work together, so decided to instead be rivals, and … [Read more...] about Dota Underlords Review – A Bold, New Genre
Olorun, Ruler of the Heavens is certainly first in his class in a very small pool of gods – Mage hunters. Sure, I feel Freya’s burst is better, and Sol’s ability to escape situations is much better than his, but Olorun can Crit! That automatically makes him the better pick, right? Those bigger numbers? I will say that any footage you see of me playing Olorun is probably going to be awful. I’m picking through the matches I recorded as I am writing this, and you will not see stellar plays. I understand how he works, but I am simply not good at him. I do like the concept of Olorun immensely, as a crittable Mage. His kit feels pretty stuffed with things he can do. I mostly like it, but I suppose the only part I really take umbrage with is his 3. The knock-back doesn’t really help you get out of bad positioning, it offers a heal-over-time, and it gives Olorun himself Magical/Physical defense. I don’t hate it, but I am not sold. Olorun is the greatest of … [Read more...] about SMITE God Review – Olorun, Ruler of the Heavens
This is the full version of entries that have been published in the last week! I just thought it might be nicer to have everything in one huge entry instead of in separate ones (either way: You can find all entries in the category labelled “rift vs. lotro vs. wow” on the right). The topic I wrote some time ago about “Rift vs. LotRO” is still getting readers almost every day. Unfortunately, it is probably not the kind of topic they were looking for. So, since I’ve played both games (at least for a little while), I thought I would make an elaborate posting about those games. I’m also going to throw in World of Warcraft because, apart from playing it as well, the big majority of MMO gamers have played the game or know something about the game, at least. :) (After starting to write this, I realised how long this entry would be in the end and decided to split it into different topics to be posted separately. So expect a posting every day for the next few … [Read more...] about Rift vs. LotRO vs. World of Warcraft – a closer look at all three MMOs (all entries in one)
We’ve talked about paid reviews before. We’ve also talked about how much we should charge for a paid review. Now, many advertisers will try to suggest that you do a review of their product for free. Also, sometimes if you don’t want to say a lot of good things about a product that you’re being paid to review, you may want to turn it down and just do a “free” review instead. Here are a couple things to remember when doing reviews: Free and paid. Things To Remember When Doing Free And Paid Reviews Is This Related? If the product which you have been asked to review is relevant to your niche, don’t be afraid to do a review. If you find the product useful for your reader base, and you feel that other users are going to get benefit out of this product, grab a sample copy of the product and review it. Also, if you feel that there’s a product out there in the market that you think is worthwhile, you can just go out and do a … [Read more...] about Should You Do A Free Review Or A Paid Review?
