Its been a good run. Rush On Seven Episodes aka ROSE Online, will be shutting down on February 11, 2019. WarpPortal, the Gravity owned publisher that hosts the game, made the announcement today via the Rose Online Facebook page. The in-game item mall is already closed, and players who still have points in-game will be able to transfer them to other WarpPortal PC MMORPGs including Ragnarok Online, Ragnarok Online 2, Record of Lodoss War Online, Dragon Saga, or Requiem. Premium currency transfer requests will be accepted until March 1, 2019 so get it done before those points expire. Effected players can use this link to file a support ticket to initiate the transfer. Rose Online has been struggling for years, the game never got around to releasing all 7 'episodes', as the game's planets were called. As one of the first Korean MMORPGs to make it to the West, way back in 2005, many of today's MMO gamers still have fond memories of the 3D anime-inspired title. There are still several … [Read more...] about ROSE Online Is Shutting Down On Feb 11, 2019

Pantheon deep-dives the Black Rose Keep dungeon we toured at PAX
There’s a lot to unpack in Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen’s April newsletter. Not only does it cover the Ratkin species from the bestiary and a dev spotlight with CTO and Lead Programmer Daniel Krenn, but it deep-dives Black Rose Keep, the massive multi-level indoor/outdoor dungeon being demoed at PAX this year. “You will be able to revisit BRK and you’ll want to because the level range is very well spread out, depending on which area of the zone you’re in,” Lead Writer Justin Gerhart writes. “That’s not to say we have fenced off portions that check your level before entering. There’s a fair amount of intermingling between tiers throughout, but with higher concentrations of specific tiers in specific locations. Unless you’ve spent your whole char life outside of this area you should hit sections you won’t be able to progress through your first time in. The goal was to make BRK a memorable and substantial experience for … [Read more...] about Pantheon deep-dives the Black Rose Keep dungeon we toured at PAX
ROSE Online mobile title announced for Japanese release
According to a recent report from MMO Culture, it looks like free-to-play fantasy MMO ROSE Online is heading to mobile with new title ROSE Online: Dreaming Goddess and Star’s Journey. Although the original MMO is available in the West thanks to developer and publisher Gravity Interactive, it hasn’t exactly managed to pull a huge following, but that doesn’t appear to be the case in Japan, where the game has a company, ROSE Online Japan Inc., dedicated solely to maintaining it. That same company is behind the upcoming mobile entry. Exact details on Dreaming Goddess and Star’s Journey are scarce – or, at the very least, provided only in Japanese – but the four base classes have been announced: Players can play as Rogues, Soldiers, Mages, or Gunners, with each class having two advanced classes to choose from later on. Right now, it’s unclear whether this mobile incarnation of ROSE Online will be coming to the West, as the title has been officially … [Read more...] about ROSE Online mobile title announced for Japanese release
Korean MMO ROSE Online is shutting down permanently after lengthy maintenance mode
After about thirteen years of operation, one Korean MMORPG is calling it quits. Gravity Corp’s ROSE Online closed its doors earlier this week on February 11th after a run that stretched back to 2005. The website showed that the game had effectively been in maintenance mode since 2016, so its sunset is of no great surprise. “Thank you for playing ROSE Online,” said the team. “We’ve had a blast bringing you this great game, and we thank you all deeply for the support you’ve given us over the years.” The adorable anime-styled MMO never garnered much of a huge following, especially in the west, although it had a stronger playerbase in Japan. A mobile spin-off was announced for a Japanese launch last year, but we have not heard whether or not it is coming to the west. … [Read more...] about Korean MMO ROSE Online is shutting down permanently after lengthy maintenance mode
Your Weekly Byte Of MMORPG News: MapleStory 2 Closed Beta Invites, Battle For Azeroth Beta, TERA Anniversary
To start things off, if you haven’t already, then head on over to Nexon’s website and fill out everything for the MapleStory 2 Closed Beta. With the Alpha testing for Battle of Azeroth now over, Blizzard has begun sending out Closed Beta invites to test the game out before their launch later in the year. Things have been quiet on Riders of Icarus’ front over the last year. I’m sure fans of the game have noticed this if they haven’t already left due to a lack of updates. What would a news week be if we didn’t have something related to TERA to include, right? In what has become known as the “Aeria Effect” (okay, maybe it hasn’t, but I would love to coin that term,) Aeria Games is shutting down Echo of Soul’s classic servers. After 14 whole years, Ragnarok Online will be shutting its doors to Europe.. Along with Ragnarok Online 2, Dragon Saga, and Rose Online. This is due to the General Data Protection … [Read more...] about Your Weekly Byte Of MMORPG News: MapleStory 2 Closed Beta Invites, Battle For Azeroth Beta, TERA Anniversary
