Whether it was worth it or not is a matter up for debate, one I’m not going to get into here. Personally, I thought it was a wicked cutscene, followed by a fantastic encounter with the Mad King in his otherworldly lair, and that overall the ArenaNet folks did an amazing job bringing us Act 3. I was thrilled to have been a part of it. … [Read more...] about How Do You Feel About One-Time-Only Events?

These attempted to be more lifelike, and had a racing and training system built into the breedable. Looking back at the manual on their website, apparently you had to pay to be certified to race or train, however. I haven’t heard much about these horses lately, and I have no idea on the status of this brand. … [Read more...] about Second Life: Finding Water Horse
But what about the other champions? What are the big adjustments? I think one of my favorite nerfs belongs to Fizz. Seastone Trident saw a minor Active Damage Ratio (AP) (0.6 ability power ⇒ 0.5 ability power) and the On-Hit Damage Ratio (0.4 ability power ⇒ 0.35 ability power). This isn’t a major change, but any nerfs to Fizz are nerfs I support. What? At least I’m honest about being biased. His ultimate, Chum the Waters saw damage ratio adjustments to Guppy, Chomper, and Gigalodon (0.8, 1.0, and 1.2 ability power respectively). These again, aren’t major, but Fizz was just a little too strong post mid-season. Aatrox also saw some changes, who also might have potentially been a bit too strong. Aatrox seems to be a pretty hard one to get just right. He’s getting there, but he needed a little something to make the laning phase less insane. Umbral Dash, for example, saw his Passive Healing against non-champions reduced (33% … [Read more...] about League of Legends – 8.16 Patch Notes Discussion
That said, all cores of the laptop’s Intel i5 6300HQ, even with boosting available, were still put under some continuous pressure when set to best appearance, and this was just while idling in Lion’s Arch. At a base clock of 2.3Ghz, we still found that this was consistent across all our systems. Processor utilization isn’t everything that we need to talk about when it comes to Guild Wars 2 but it is always going to be an obvious constraint, even in light activities. To show you just how egregious Guild Wars 2’s CPU hunger can be I dropped a toe into WvW, taking config 3 up against a zerg at best appearance and watch the CPU rocket up, maxing out on several occasions and FPS falling through the floor, despite a 1080 and data center grade internet connection that is simply unparalleled by most home PC standards. … [Read more...] about Guild Wars 2 Is Slow…. First, the obvious negative from the start includes the gender and race-locked classes. I am not so much into this feature, since the limitation is to make sure Forsaken World is not 10 GB in size and cause massive lag on the battlefields since the connection has to render so many different characters. It makes up with the typical in-depth character customization feature though. I do know a little lore about Forsaken World (PC version), and apparently this new mobile version is a prequel as we see the founding fathers of each race. Cool! … [Read more...] about – PC MMORPG dives into the mobile world for a second time
