In two previous posts, we’ve already discussed what header bidding means, how it works, and how to implement it; along with a few helpful header bidding tips for higher CPMs. As with any kind of bidding, all things being equal—header bidding yield is directly proportional to the number of demand partners you have because each additional partner means more competition for the ad space. However, all things are never equal: Since header bidding happens on the client side, low network speeds can increase ad latency beyond the point of diminishing returns. Consequently, … [Read more...] about Header Bidding Companies for Optimizing Your Ad Campaigns

Anyone who has played with me for long knows that I have this dark trait… I tend to obsess over the acquisition of various items. I’ve written about this fact a few times, and the way that certain items seem to evade me. For example I ran Karazhan every week for well over a year without ever seeing the Barbed Choker of Discipline drop, only to have it drop the very first time I attended Kara on my Alt-adin. The Shoulderguards of the Bold were similarly coy, in that it took around 30 runnings of the dungeon to finally see them drop. So in truth, it should have been no shock for me, that while every other group I knew was getting them almost every week… Duranub had yet to see a Titanguard drop. It had even become a point of teasing, as friends from other raid groups linked them the one they just won on their alts. Tencent's wildly popular mobile MOBA Honor of Kings (known as Arena of Valor in the West) made approximately CNY 7 Billion (~$1.04 billion) in revenue last month according to a research report from Japanese investment bank Nomura. The increase in revenue last month can be attributed to a highly anticipated expansion pack to the game which launched in mid-January which was the single largest update to the game since it launched in 2015. Just to put this $1B figure in context, League of Legends "only" brought in ~$2.1B in its most successful year ever (2017). February's bump in revenue was largely due to the release of new content, but according to the same research note the game was pulling in CNY 2 Billion (~$300M) on average prior to the expansion's release. While Arena of Valor hasn't made a big splash in the West yet, it's still available on iOS and Android and continues to slowly introduce new updates. Time will tell if it can catch fire in the West the same was as it had in China. … [Read more...] about Tencent’s Honor of Kings (Arena of Valor) Made $1B In Revenue In 1 Month
