It’s safe to say that (outside of the revenue share) one of the best promises that Epic Games has made to potential games is the option to avoid a phenomenon that is becoming more and more prevalent on Steam and the internet as a whole: Review bombs. A review bomb, for those living in bomb-proof shelters, involves large numbers of people leaving negative reviews for a game. In the last few years, this has ranged from insertion of DRM, something stupid said by a community manager, the developer entering a publishing deal, an anti-China joke, bad updates, etc. Valve, in their consistent refusal to deal with community issues, has remained silent on the problem of review bombs. They have instituted what amounted to a bandage in the form of a graphical chart where customers can see if the negative reviews are consolidated to a very short time span. In a blog post released this morning, Valve has announced that the company will revisit user reviews starting with off-topic review bombs. … [Read more...] about Valve Promises To Nuke Review Bombs

ESO 2018: Elder Scrolls Online Summerset DLC Review and First Impressions (Day 2)
ESO 2018: Elder Scrolls Online Summerset DLC Review and First Impressions (Day 2) If there was any doubt that Summerset’s story and as DLC would be underwhelming, drop it. With more hours under my belt, I can safely say that this is probably ESO’s best Chapter DLC since Morrowind. Is it better than Morrowind? I’ll have to say yes. Yes indeed. In the last post, we already covered some of the basics things that Summerset introduced by way of content. Abyssal Geysers are great organic landscape content that breathes life into the island, and the general side quests are of high quality. We also shared thoughts about the Psijic Order and its new skill line, which is awesome despite the tedious grind to rank it all the way up to 10. Undead Nation: Last Shelter Review
I first saw George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead when I was around nine or ten years old. That year I absolutely wanted to be a zombie for Halloween. I made it about as far as some green face paint, a little fake blood, and a pair of my jeans with torn out knees. Still, I spent that 31st of October shambling around with my arms extended, hands hanging from limp wrists, groaning “Braaaaains” in my squeaky pre-pubescent voice. My love of zombies has only grown over the years, as has the popularity of zombie culture. There are at least 24 zombie movies by Romero himself, The Walking Dead comic book and subsequent TV show, and of course countless games. Some of these games are passable, but the vast majority are not. The mobile industry in particular seems to love a good zombie game, and a bad zombie game even more. As such, it was with some mild trepidation that I downloaded Undead Nation: Last Shelter for my Pixel. I originally discovered the game through an ad … [Read more...] about Undead Nation: Last Shelter Review
