FFXIV: Shadowbringers – Second Time Through MSQ

· July 23, 2019 · Leave a Comment

On Sunday, I got my RP alt, Amon, to level 80 Bard. Yesterday, I unlocked the final zone of the expansion, worked through all his role quests, and got his set of Bard Artifact armor, which he’s pictured here wearing. While I’m not quite done with the MSQ yet, I’m getting pretty close! Working through Shadowbringers a second time, I spent some time doing things like side quests and hunts, as well as daily GC turn-ins for his gatherers. Some parts I spent a little longer with than others – I did a heaping share of cutscene skipping this time, unless I really wanted a refresher on the story. I can always go back and watch them in the Inn if I really want to. Despite being level 80, I still have a slew of side quests I didn’t complete, which I’m regulating to his secondary job. I also played through all of the dungeons with Trusts this time, trying that system out for the first time, and really liked how it felt. A few of the boss fights that I had … [Read more...] about FFXIV: Shadowbringers – Second Time Through MSQ

– PC MMORPG dives into the mobile world for a second time

· September 22, 2019 · Leave a Comment

A few years ago, Perfect World Entertainment launched a mobile game based on its PC MMORPG, titled Forsaken World Mobile. The game bombed hard on the global market, with totally no fanfare or traction at all despite the PC version garnering some hype. Forward to 2019, and a new mobile version of Forsaken World, simply titled Forsaken World, launched in Taiwan last week. If you ask me, Forsaken World (2019) is an even better game than Perfect World Mobile, which in my opinion stinks. Here is a quick dive into Forsaken World! First, the obvious negative from the start includes the gender and race-locked classes. I am not so much into this feature, since the limitation is to make sure Forsaken World is not 10 GB in size and cause massive lag on the battlefields since the connection has to render so many different characters. It makes up with the typical in-depth character customization feature though. I do know a little lore about Forsaken World (PC version), and apparently this new … [Read more...] about – PC MMORPG dives into the mobile world for a second time

Making A Second Life Mesh House In Blender – Part 2: Planning is Important

· April 8, 2018 · Leave a Comment

Other Posts in This Series Part 1: The Very Basics Part 3: Making Windows and Doors Part 4: Assigning Textures to Walls Before starting a Blender project, it’s important to have a good feel for the structure you want to make. That’s why referencing a floor plan is a good idea. You can make your own floor plan using free online software. Here’s a few I found with a quick Google search: Roomsketcher  Homestyler I’m sure there are more, but you get the idea. Find something that works for you. I’m not so skilled at creating a floor plan, and I just went into this wanting to learn Blender, so I did a search for house layouts. I found a house that looked like it would be fairly easy to start with: A little boxy modern house with a lot of windows and a loft inside. This came with a floorplan, which I chose to reference and follow really loosely. The idea isn’t to be exact, but to have something to work from. To have a plan to follow. To start … [Read more...] about Making A Second Life Mesh House In Blender – Part 2: Planning is Important

E3 2018: A second look at Trion’s Defiance 2050 reboot

· June 18, 2018 · Leave a Comment

GDC 2018 back in March was good to Defiance 2050, at least in terms of making people aware of the goals of the game. It doesn’t necessarily mean people like what they’ve seen or heard, but Social Influencer and Community Manager Scott “Mobi” Jasper and Community Specialist Coby West feel that particular reveal has done the best for the game. At this year’s E3 followup, there wasn’t any huge new reveal, aside from the launch date itself – just more tweaks. There certainly seems to be a bit of a disconnect between the overall MMO sphere and the 2050 fandom the devs are used to, with the devs somewhat understandably being more connected to their fans. After all, those are people who are willing to pay to play, and especially for a free to play game, that’s what you need. I got my hands on the game for the second time this year, and while it’s a solid play experience, I worry that, created in a vacuum, its potential for growth … [Read more...] about E3 2018: A second look at Trion’s Defiance 2050 reboot

Pantropy’s second Kickstarter successfully funds and hits five stretch goals along the way

· May 11, 2018 · Leave a Comment

Second time proved to be the charm with Pantropy, as the sci-fi shooter wrapped up a successful Kickstarter campaign just two months after cancelling its first one. The team was aiming for €20,000 this time around, but shot past that to end up with €74,679 (about $89,011). Not bad for a game about stompy mechs and base building! Even better, Pantropy’s crowdfunding campaign ended up hitting five stretch goals before it concluded. This means that fans can look forward to more boss creatures, PvE-only servers, a professionally written story, a single-player mode, and (naturally) orbital laser strikes. “Thanks to all you amazing guys, we have reached our funding goal within 24 hours,” the team announced back at the campaign’s beginning. “That’s amazing and we can’t thank you enough! We can’t wait to have a huge event with all our backers in may and meet you guys in-game.” Source: KickstarterSHARE THIS ARTICLE … [Read more...] about Pantropy’s second Kickstarter successfully funds and hits five stretch goals along the way
