If you’ve ever wandered through Booty Bay in World of Warcraft and thought that it’d be much cooler if the town featured a bunch of mannequins spouting gibberish and getting mad at one another for leaving dirty dishes in the middle of the hallway, you are probably a fan of The Sims 4. And now you can combine these two things with a complete recreation of Booty Bay in The Sims 4, right down to the exact placement of wooden crates. Yes, this is a thing. There’s a 40-minute video showing it off! Not only is this a cool video to watch, you can download and play around with the Sims-ified Booty Bay, as well as exploring other creations of user Sati Sim including Dalaran and the Darkmoon Faire. Sure, your playthrough in these areas will probably include Anduin and Saurfang becoming boyfriends and making Jaina very angry, but that really feels like more of a lateral move for storytelling in the franchise. … [Read more...] about Remember Booty Bay in World of Warcraft? Sims 4 seasons where to get umbrella
When my computer’s hard drive barfed back in May and I had to reload everything onto a new one, I had forgotten at the time to reinstall The Sims 4. It wasn’t until the recent Seasons expansion patch that I even remembered that I had it, at which moment I went, “Oh YEAH, that would totally hit the spot!” and I returned to the evil lair that is EA Origin to get it. It actually does hit the spot, especially for those evenings when I want a very casual house-building experience. Hey, MMOs, I’d be building houses in you if more of you would just have them, you know. The other interesting thing about The Sims 4 in our household is that it’s kind of a party experience. When I boot it up, all of the kids rush over and start telling me what characters to make and how to decorate and a thousand other backseat commands. We have one household that was built by committee and it is the goofiest thing ever. So when I installed it, I figured that I might for the … [Read more...] about The Sims 4: All of this costs HOW much?
I wanted to get a post about Sims 4 Seasons done before this, but ended up completely distracted by computer issues. Thankfully, I’ve gotten those squared away, and the PC is running great again. I still haven’t sat down with Sims again after being so rudely pulled away… but I think the few days I spent with it is enough to spin up a reaction post. Namely… this expansion changes just about every aspect of the game in such a way that it completely enhances the experience for me. There’s just so much going on here, I know I will never remember all of it to write about. Weather and Seasons Of course, Seasons brings seasons… which means changes in weather patterns. But, just like in real life, weather doesn’t always make sense. I saw snow in the middle of spring, for example, which can actually happen IRL. It was a cool little touch (no pun intended). There’s also changes in temperature that effect your Sims (and can even kill them). This is … [Read more...] about Sims 4 Seasons Fun
The newest expansion for Sims 4 — Seasons, is gearing up to drop at midnight EST on this Friday. I’m trying to temper my feelings for the pack, but I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t pretty excited by what I’ve seen. In fact, I decided to officially take a vacation day so I could immerse myself in all the expansion has to offer. I’ve learned in the past that Sims expansions require at least a full day of my time for me to feel like I’ve got a grasp on what all they have to offer. Since this releases on a Friday, that lines me up for a long weekend (of Sims). Traditionally, Seasons has been one of the most popular and requested of the Sims expansions, right up there with Pets. With this version of Seasons, we’re not just getting weather, but a focus on an in-game calendar and holidays. In the past, Seasons had holidays, but they were usually something quickly done with. This time around, you can make a calendar, create your own holidays … [Read more...] about Looking Forward to the Sims 4 Seasons Expansion
Elance was a great website, but then it merged with Odesk to form Upwork, and we have to agree – Upwork isn’t the same as Elance. It already had a lot of problems on its own, and now that its fee has gone up from 10% to 20%, people are leaving the sinking ship. Freelance writers are pretty clueless – they don’t know where to look for assignments. I’m facing the same issues. After getting hundreds of clients through Elance, now I’m looking for alternate sources. The times are difficult, but all is not lost. Here are some places where you can still find freelance writing assignments. 6 great methods to find Paid Freelance Writing Jobs Fiverr Fiverr is a job board where freelancers open their “gigs” and clients can hire them according to the services offered.
