Or is it search? Where should most of my marketing efforts go? As I researched the best marketing channels, I realized that “blogs” are different businesses that have different clients. Some blogs are technical and specific, and others are generic and informational. There is no one single solution for all blogs. In this article, I will give examples of different kinds of blogs and the channels that are most effective for them. If you’ve been surfing the web at all over the past few years, you’ve probably noticed an abundance of what internet users refer to as “memes.” While the internet generation would love to claim the creation of this social media icon, the word in its current meaning has been around since the mid-1970s and memes themselves have been around since practically the dawn of man. A meme, by definition, is “an idea, behavior, style, or usage that spreads from person to person within a culture.” Recently, memes have been appearing as repeated images or actions shared through social media. For example, by sharing pictures of friends “planking” (lying down completely flat) in unusual places, or by adding funny tag lines to odd pictures, like those found on the website ICanHasCheezburger.com. A meme that has received a lot of attention recently is the Ridiculously Photogenic Guy. Snapped during the 2012 Cooper River Bridge Run in Charleston, South … [Read more...] about What Do You Meme? Have you written a well-researched and high-quality article but were disappointed as it did not get the attention it deserved? Also, have you noticed that there are few articles which are not very well written but have received a lot of likes and shares. Medium was created to be a simple form of expression and displayer of content. The interface is minimal and lets the user focus on either writing or reading. There isn’t a platform like Medium elsewhere on the internet because all other platforms are constantly looking to add more and more features. Medium seems to be content with its limited set of features. This is good. This is good for the reader, for the creator, and for the community as a whole. Like every other blogger, I have been using Google Images for Clip art, Images, and Photos for my blog even though I didn’t want to. But recently I created a Lifestyle blog for a friend and advised her to use Flickr for images. I was totally impressed by her image searching capability and decided to use Flickr for my blog as well. I read that article a couple of days back and got to action. Why? Because Roni said that we can get sued for using those clip-arts, stock images, and photos which we get from Google Images. I have often, like most of you, royally ignored the warning message from Google which says “Images may be subject to copyright.” while previewing images. So where can you get images from now? Use images with a Creative Commons License. Creative Commons Attribution License indicates that … [Read more...] about 40 Image Sources & Tools For Free Stock Photos, Images & Cliparts

Let’s start this article with a story about Steve Jobs and Mac. Many years back, during testing, the Mac took a few minutes to start up. Steve Jobs was furious that it took so long. He had this to say: “Well, let’s say you can shave 10 seconds off of the boot time. Multiply that by five million users and that’s 50 million seconds, every single day. Over a year, that’s probably dozens of lifetimes. So if you make it boot ten seconds faster, you’ve saved a dozen lives. That’s really worth it, don’t you think?” The Mac series of laptops are definitely some of the most solid devices out there compared to their numerous competitors. Compared to Windows, the Mac is: Blazingly fast Not prone to viruses Doesn’t crash as much It’s a well thought out machine and this can be attributed to the late Steve Jobs’s obsession with the product. This kind of obsession undoubtedly makes a great product. It also makes it a haven for … [Read more...] about Best Social Media Desktop Apps for Mac OS: 2016
