DC Universe Online has launched on the Nintendo Switch console this month. The free to play superhero MMORPG by WB Games and Daybreak Studios have been around for close to a decade, and have finally taken the plunge to be the first Western MMORPG on the Swtich. We’ve been playing it since launch and here’s some thoughts on the game. What’s Changed For DC Universe Online on Nintendo Switch Like most MMORPG ports from PC systems to console in the past, DC Universe Online hasn’t changed all that much. For the most part, the gameplay, the content, episodes, story and combat is the same. Ultimately, the content does not change for DCUO on the Nintendo Switch. The player experience is pretty much the most different however, due to players having to trade large PC monitors for the tiny Switch handheld screen. The so-called Precision meta needs some work if a dev blog from the folks at DC Universe Online is to be believed. In order to fix this problem, the devs will be making some changes to both weapons and artifacts with the intent to make everything feel more balanced. As part of these adjustments, players will be receiving gifts in the form of an Artifact Celebration Pack for everyone and an additional Venom Wrist … [Read more...] about DC Universe Online shares plans to adjust weapons and artifacts
After about ten weeks on the PTR we finally 8.2 Rise of Azshara went live, and we’ve been able to take a far more comprehensive look into it. Though I’ve been participating the PTR the whole time there are a few things which surprised me in the live version (since everything wasn’t completely implemented before I stopped playing about a week before the patch). Let’s look at where 8.2 gets things right and where things are either a miss or just not quite right. There will be some spoilers because the story is a big part of this patch. Now that you’ve been warned let’s start with what’s right about 8.2. advertisement This first aspect which is right is the first storyline and that first cutscene which gets everyone into Nazjatar. I hadn’t seen it before launch, so all I knew was the Alliance is chasing the Horde ships who are headed out to the middle of the ocean because of reasons. Then Azshara does something which opens a … [Read more...] about World of Warcraft 8.2 is Here and It’s….OK?

But one that had our attention was the unnamed title slated for the spookiest time of the year, since Funcom has a bit of a tradition of building Halloween one-off games, including Hide and Shriek and The Park, both of which borrowed from The Secret World MMO’s IP. As of this morning, we know more about the new game. It’s a “cosmic horror game” called Moons of Madness and developed by Rock Pocket Games, and while it’s not an MMO, it is using the Secret World IP once again. “Set on Mars in a not-so-distant future, Moons of Madness mixes the scientific exploration of the red planet with the supernatural dread of Lovecraftian horror. […] In Moons of Madness you play Shane Newehart, a technician stationed at the Invictus, a secret research base built by the Orochi … [Read more...] about Funcom’s next horror game, Moons of Madness, is set in the Secret World universe
