Ubisoft has joined the list of companies donating to rebuild the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris following a fire that destroyed much of the church. The French developer has pledged $564 thousand USD to help with its restoration, joining the hundreds of millions of dollars donated by the combined efforts of numerous other French and international businesses. In addition, Ubisoft is offering a free copy of Assassin’s Creed Unity for PC to honor the landmark. Assassin’s Creed Unity recreated the Notre Dame cathedral to such a level of accuracy and detail that Engadget is reporting that the game may be of use in its reconstruction. Following the fire that damaged the Notre-Dame de Paris, Assassin’s Creed developer Ubisoft has announced it will be offering support in the restoration and reconstruction of the French landmark. Of course, not being construction workers, the company will instead be donating €500,000 ($564,870 USD) to help with the rebuilding efforts. Of course, it will be some time before anyone can visit the cathedral again and experience it as intended. So, Ubisoft has decided to give everyone the next best thing. In the wake of the tragic fire that caused extensive damage to the historic Notre-Dame Cathedral earlier this week, Ubisoft is stepping forward to lend financial aid to the restoration efforts for the iconic Parisian landmark.
