With a wave of new Korean MMORPGs coming out recently, En Masse Entertainment aren’t leaving TERA to fall behind. This week, the game announced a brand new update. Launching in October for North American players, Aerial Island marks the end of the ‘Skywatch’ series of updates with the addition of the floating region of Exodor, containing four new quest-filled zones and the title’s signature Big-Ass Monsters (BAMs), as well as new and updated dungeons and more powerful gear for players to earn. It’s exciting times for TERA players across all platforms, as some game changing news have emerged from En Masse Entertainment. Following last week’s release of the BAF Masters update, the TERA PC team at En Masse Entertainment today gave players a peek at what they can look forward to in the first quarter of the year with a new roadmap. Hitting the ground running in January, the first update of the year will feature a wealth of PvP changes and Battleground updates, and a big focus on class, skill, and PvP balancing. This is followed by a quieter February to give players time to prepare for one of the biggest updates coming to TERA. The March update will increase the maximum level from 65 to 70, adding new quests and a brand-new open-world boss system to accompany the higher level-cap. We’re just speculating, but it’s possible you guys all have phones. So perhaps you’d like a version of TERA to bring along on your phone? That’s what TERA Frontier is all about, and it has taken a step closer to release with the announcement that it now has a publisher in Kakao! The publisher has secured global rights, including putting the game out in South Korea as well as the rest of the world. If you’d forgotten about TERA Frontier, it’s based on the Unreal 4 engine and is promising group PvE, PvP, and the same scale of the world to explore in its mobile incarnation. The title is under development by Red Sahara Studios, a division of Bluehole. TERA Outlines New Dungeons and Classes In Content Roadmap For Consoles En Masse Entertainment revealed their upcoming roadmap of content that TERA players on Xbox One and PlayStation®4 can look forward to in upcoming months. En Masse remains dedicated to giving the community a steady flow of new content, while making changes and quality-of-life updates based on player feedback. In August, fans can expect to see Gridiron, a new PvP Battleground, along with the Rootstock and Pond Faire in-game events. September will bring the highly-anticipated ninja class. Holiday events are always a special time in-game and things get extra spooky in October with an annual Halloween event and festive with the Winter holiday event in December. Expanded guild features, new dungeons, and end-game gear are among the other new content and features rounding out TERA’s content calendar for 2018. Play TERA for freeIt’s E3 2018, and you know what that means: covering hot new mobile games of IPs you wanted for PC/console! No? Oh, well, that’s probably for the best, as En Masse Senior Product Manager Matt Denomme told me that there are “no specific plans” to bring TERA M to the west. However, Denomme did do a lot of work with the console port, so during our E3 meetup, we talked about TERA‘s six years of life, lootboxes, the vanarch system (RIP), and more. Console awareness Denomme admits that TERA’s console launch was a lot of work. There’s some relief that the game’s been out in the wild, but the team knows there are some issues and nasty bugs to tackle, like Velika City on Xbox not running well. The update that’s bringing the Gunner launch should have a lot of those bug fixes and optimizations.
