Dear BioWare: Gives Us The Next Dragon Age Before It’s Too Late

· July 16, 2019 · Leave a Comment

Remember when BioWare teased a little trailer at the Game Awards in December last year? That almost seemed like a lifetime ago. We got a glimpse of Solas – the much misunderstood hero turn villain in the series’s last installment Dragon Age: Inquisition. Well that was way back in 2014, and now five years on, it’s beginning to feel like a drag. Fans and players want to know where the story goes, and because the narrative has been so good in the trilogy so far (gameplay not so much), it’s only inevitable that folks would be craving for more. Furthermore, developers BioWare are not having a good 2019. Anthem has made the news for all the wrong reasons, and one might suspect that the studio is buckling under that negativity. So please BioWare, here’s why we need the next Dragon Age before it’s too late. Or, give it to another studio worthy of completing the saga. We Want To See Tevinter Let’s face it – we all adore Dorian Pavus as a companion … [Read more...] about Dear BioWare: Gives Us The Next Dragon Age Before It’s Too Late

Top 5 Reasons Why We Need A New Dragon Age In 2019

· November 30, 2018 · Leave a Comment

In case you missed the news, BioWare is about to announce something new for its Dragon Age franchise in December. Plenty of BioWare folks like Mark Darrah has been teasing a new game in recent times, but this one feels solid. Casey Hudson’s hint that the announcement in December ties in nicely to the annual Game Awards, which has been a platform for announcing new games in the past. With that in mind, we’re salivating at the thought of a new Dragon Age game for this generation of consoles and PC graphics. Here’s why we need a new Dragon Age game in 2019. We Want To See Tevinter Let’s face it – we all adore Dorian Pavus as a companion in Dragon Age: Inquisition right? Besides being openly gay and fabulous, the character adds a lot more emotional weight to the cast. More importantly, Dorian’s idle party chatter in addition to all the lore drops in-game suggests one thing. It all pointed to the Tevinter Imperium. Tevinter Imperium is the oldest extant … [Read more...] about Top 5 Reasons Why We Need A New Dragon Age In 2019

Dragon Age: Origins – A Run Of The Mill “Witch Hunt”

· September 8, 2010 · Leave a Comment

Note: Rest assured, no spoilers until the second half of the post, after the warning and the image. It’s been a busy week, but somehow I managed to find the time to play the Dragon Age: Origins – Witch Hunt DLC. In preparation I had allotted myself ample time, but in hindsight, I need not have bothered. It was so…short. The whole thing couldn’t have taken me longer than 2 hours to complete, even with a few breaks in between. Granted, I have never before purchased any DLC for this game so I have nothing to compare it against, but for $7 I had expected a longer campaign. Issue of length aside, I’m not disappointed, but I’m not impressed either. I’m frustrated by its mediocrity more than anything else, considering the fact Witch Hunt was proclaimed as the final DLC for Origins. The gameplay felt needlessly rushed and took us to many areas that were previously seen before, reused for this campaign. The story behind the adventure itself was … [Read more...] about Dragon Age: Origins – A Run Of The Mill “Witch Hunt”

Restarting Inquisition

Final Fantasy XIV Downtime The is something strange about knowing you can’t play something… that makes you want to play it.  Right now this is happening for me with Final Fantasy XIV, especially since I knew that more than likely I would not really be able to sink my teeth into it until I got back from Pax South.  It sounds from the early reports that World of Darkness is absolutely not the cakewalk that Syrcus Tower has come to be.  Then again maybe at one point Syrcus wasn’t either…  considering I have never actually been around when one of the 24 man dungeons was “new”.  Both Labyrinth of the Ancients and Syrcus Tower were aging content when we came back to the game.  So it will be interesting to see how it works out. Pax is going to pretty much eat all my time starting tomorrow with the planning and packing.  So I am not likely going to get to experience much of this patch until I come back Sunday/Monday.  … [Read more...] about Restarting Inquisition

Spindleclutch Age

Tax Time Last night my wife and I had agreed to get our taxes done.  Normally we do this over spring break but various reasons, one of which was a death in the family caused this to not happen.  Tax time is one of those things that causes undue stress in me.  While the only time we had to pay federal is when I was doing a lot of contract work, I still live in fear of someone having screwed something up.  The IRS are a truly humorless group, and I always picture the agents from the matrix when I think of them.  They would give zero shit that someone in HR screwed up our withholdings. As a result we end up procrastinating until we reach the point where it is either April or almost April and we are pushed into action to finally deal with it.  Last night once again we were relieved when it was finished.  For once we somehow dodged the bullet of having to pay state taxes, and are getting a small refund back from there.  We ended up doing just fine, … [Read more...] about Spindleclutch Age
