This week Donald J. Trump defied the odds and was elected President of the United States of America. Americans from all walks of life rose up and said “enough” and elected Trump as their champion. It was a victory that sent shock waves all around the world. It was a triumph for the common man who rebelled against the elites who have become the de facto ruling aristocracy here in America. From the beginning of the campaign, Donald Trump distinguished himself from his fellow Republican candiates with a tonic of straight talk free of the shackles of political correctness that seeks to silence and control. Truth telling politicians are so rare that by virtue of telling the truth Trump stood out like a comet on a starry night. Trump dared to tell the truth and those that voted for him loved him for it. Trump’s brash demeanor and straight talk immediately resonated with a public weary and beaten down by 8 years of Obama’s progressive ideology. You know what? … [Read more...] about Donald Trump and the Triumph of the Common Man

Google Cracks Down on Content Scrapers and Dubious News Aggregators
In response to a veritable tsunami of backlash following the general election day (when a blatantly fake website got the top spot for Google search query “Final Election count 2016” on Nov. 12), Google is finally moving to curb the spread of misinformation. The search giant will ban fake news sites from AdSense – a bold move that seeks to cut the revenue streams for publishers of dubious content. The need for such a move became apparent after Buzzfeed published a report on Macedonia’s teenagers earning thousands of dollars of AdSense revenue through pro-trump websites. Using domain name registration records and online searches, BuzzFeed News identified over 100 active US politics websites being run from Veles. Major Veles’ origin sites: 365usanews.com Usapoliticsonline.com worldpoliticus.com usadailypolitics.com …and up to 140 others. These portals stole (aka scraped) pro-Trump content from other alt-right websites like ConservativeNews.com, The … [Read more...] about Google Cracks Down on Content Scrapers and Dubious News Aggregators
Why I am Boycotting Blizzard Entertainment
After years critiquing World of Warcraft, Blizzard’s recent decision to promote ideologies that are incompatible with the values and beliefs I hold dear, is a bridge too far for me to cross. As a result, I can no longer in good conscience continue to write articles about Blizzard Entertainment and their various video games. While I may include references to Blizzard or World of Warcraft in future articles, this will be my last piece that deals with them directly. I will also no longer purchase or play any product made by Blizzard or Activision. The final straw came for me in August of 2017, when Kotaku reported that a leaked email memo from Blizzard company president Mike Morhaime who described the launching of a “global diversity and inclusion initiative” which seeks to increase the representation of women and other minorities at Blizzard. The article goes on to detail Blizzard’s efforts to achieve this via various methods. As a person who has both worked … [Read more...] about Why I am Boycotting Blizzard Entertainment
Daybreak update: Renova boss questioned over Columbus Nova’s alleged payment to Michael Cohen
MMOs and politics once again collide this week as last night CNN broke the news that Robert Mueller’s FBI team has zeroed in on Russian oligarch and Renova Group chairman Viktor Vekselberg as part of the Special Counsel investigation into Russian election interference, questioning Vekselberg about money Renova’s US “affiliate” transferred to US President Donald Trump attorney Michael Cohen. (Tangentially, those allegations were brought to light by Stormy Daniels attorney Michael Avenatti.) And the name of that US affiliate under investigation? Yeah, it’s Columbus Nova, the firm that claimed it acquired MMORPG studio Daybreak back in 2015. Here we go again. “FBI agents asked Vekselberg about payments his company’s American affiliate, Columbus Nova, made to Cohen, according to one source,” CNN reports. “The Russian was questioned as well about $300,000 in political donations by Andrew Intrater, Vekselberg’s American cousin who … [Read more...] about Daybreak update: Renova boss questioned over Columbus Nova’s alleged payment to Michael Cohen
TennoCon 2018: Warframe enhances sights and sounds with new skins, ‘Frames, pet skins, music, and more
Play Warframe for freeWhat does a great game look like to you? More and more it looks like Warframe to me. Looks and sounds like I should say. Have you seen those reveals from this year’s TennoCon? I found them pretty amazing. And part of that amazingness comes from the look and the sound of it all; the gameplay content wouldn’t have half the impact without the integral contributions of the art and sound departments. At TennoCon Live 2018 I got to learn a bit more about these aspects of Warframe. Of course, no panel would be complete without a reveal or two, and we were treated to a few fun ones, from the two new ‘Frames and skins to the introduction of pet skins to the discovery of Creative Director Steve Sinclair’s hidden voice role in game. The Art of War(frame) Although Revenant was first introduced to the community earlier in a dev livestream, this new warframe got some screen time to show off more details during the con. As the Eidolon ‘Frame, it … [Read more...] about TennoCon 2018: Warframe enhances sights and sounds with new skins, ‘Frames, pet skins, music, and more
