During this time I was thrown directly into the fact that the mages and templars were at war with themselves… and everyone that happened across their paths… including towns folk, the chantry, and the occasional farmer. It was also during this time that I started to embrace the notion that maybe I was in fact the chosen one. I think I did enough objectives to get to 8 or 9 power, closing several rifts before eventually meandering my way to my objective. Ultimately I did end up leaving the Hinterlands before getting entirely mired in them… but I did it in my own fashion without the feel of rushing through them. The game feels better to me now, or maybe I am just in the right frame of mind to be playing it. I’ve added several more companions to my crusade, including the very amazing Sera. So far the only one I don’t really like is Vivienne, but that really isn’t terribly shocking. What does amuse me … [Read more...] about Restarting Inquisition

Grinding Gear into Plasteel
Last night my play time entirely revolved around trying to find more green armor to grind down into Plasteel, and finding Relic Iron… which so far is the hardest of the materials to spot. I’ve gotten rather good at picking out the chunks of brown against the red brown landscape of Mars, and had a fair bit of luck finding chests that had quite a large quantity of it. The problem honestly as you can see from the screenshot is that I just cannot seem to get enough plasteel. I could in theory buy ingrams from the Cryptarch and grind those down… but that seems defeatist. Instead I am mostly spending my time doing patrol missions on Mars since they give me reputation and have a fair chance of dropping greens. I have now entered the grind phase of the game, and while I am still very much enjoying myself I can see how this might wear on folks with a lower tolerance to grind. … [Read more...] about Grinding Gear into Plasteel
Pumpkin King
It is every bit as cool as you might imagine. Firstly you are running around with a giant jack-o-lantern on a stick which in itself has a cool factor. To add to the effect however, when you hit anything… it spawns a pumpkin bomb on the ground… which moments later then explodes taking out more stuff. The only negative here is it actually cost me an objective last night. The objective was to take out a handful of monsters with the hammer… problem being that in one case at least the pumpkin bomb went off and finished off the monster and as a result it did not count. So that is something to watch, but what I like about it is the fact that the attack animation seems much faster than the standard hammer. It hits for slightly less than my previous hammer, but since I am able to hit more often it balances out in the end. Other than the hammer the ghost sold a few spells, that also looked pretty great… but after … [Read more...] about Pumpkin King
The Best RPG Game Announcements Of 2018 To Be Excited About
Cyberpunk 2077 When we first got a better glimpse at E3 this year, Cyberpunk 2077 couldn’t be as different from The Witcher games. Studio CD Projekt Red’s next massive RPG game shows us an exciting future in the world of Cyberpunk – a cynical future where capitalism and technology has changed the world for the worst. Players play in the shoes of protagonist V, who must traverse this huge open world with no loading times. Primarily an FPS game, it is definitely a departure from The Witcher, but it remains true to its RPG storytelling roots. The game has level up progression, skill-checks and definitely loot such as getting high-tech weapons and more. … [Read more...] about The Best RPG Game Announcements Of 2018 To Be Excited About
5 Things That Anthem Needs To Improve After Launch
Player Communications Anthem’s lack of an in-game text chat is actually hindering the game from random public players. While it is an MMO of some sort, VOIP is hardly used by anyone who plays casually unless you’re in an organized group or playing with friends. This makes communicating objectives in Strongholds or focus firing targets in harder difficulties a massive challenge. Anthem could really find more ways to improve this with either a marking target system or even a ping system like that in Apex Legends. In other areas, players sometimes may encounter unsavory players in random group play during Stronghold missions that are just AFK. The game needs some sort of a ‘vote to kick’ system that will help eliminate trolls and griefers. … [Read more...] about 5 Things That Anthem Needs To Improve After Launch
