With skeleton ships sailing, volcanoes erupting, rowboats rowing, and the three-player brigantine vessel tempting, Sea of Thieves is firing a publicity broadside following its E3 2018 showing. The team admitted that it had changed its mind on a long-held stance against instituting skeleton ships. This was, apparently, due to player feedback: “Players have wanted it for a period of time and now we’re going to do it.” The Sea of Thieves team got together to talk about the big changes coming to the multiplayer pirate simulator, and you can drop in on that chat with the latest Tales from the Tavern podcast after the break! It’s been over a month since I last checked in about Shroud of the Avatar. In that time, there’s been heated debate on our forums about Portalarium’s KickStarter-backed indie title, covering everything from the core mechanics, to whether it even qualifies as an MMO. I’ll be getting to both of those questions later on in this wrap-up, but it clearly demonstrates how divisive this is. One player’s perfect experience is another’s critical miss. advertisement That conflicting opinion can even be seen as far back as our ‘early access’ review. In August 2016, Markus Rohringer praised the diverse sandbox but was disappointed by dated visuals and minimal content. In the 18-plus months since that initial steam debut, has Richard Garriott and team managed to turn things around? The answer, predictably, is complicated. On the one hand, there’s now an abundance of content blended with an intriguing dialogue-based quest … [Read more...] about Does Classic Charm Make for an MMO Worth Playing?
This is the full version of entries that have been published in the last week! I just thought it might be nicer to have everything in one huge entry instead of in separate ones (either way: You can find all entries in the category labelled “rift vs. lotro vs. wow” on the right). The topic I wrote some time ago about “Rift vs. LotRO” is still getting readers almost every day. Unfortunately, it is probably not the kind of topic they were looking for. So, since I’ve played both games (at least for a little while), I thought I would make an elaborate posting about those games. I’m also going to throw in World of Warcraft because, apart from playing it as well, the big majority of MMO gamers have played the game or know something about the game, at least. :) (After starting to write this, I realised how long this entry would be in the end and decided to split it into different topics to be posted separately. So expect a posting every day for the next few … [Read more...] about Rift vs. LotRO vs. World of Warcraft – a closer look at all three MMOs (all entries in one)
Hello everyone. Today I want to introduce you to a very well known advertising network which is a great alternative to those who are already making money in their websites but want to earn more. Infolinks is a contextual advertising network working with thousands of publishers and more than 100,000 active websites around the world distributed in 128 countries. Infolinks has been recommended in my list of the best Adsense alternatives for 3 years already, but they are actually bigger than that. You can use Infolinks at the same time with Adsense ads without having problems or being banned as it could happen with other networks. And you can mix it with many other networks from that list too to increase your revenue. As mentioned, Infolinks has contextual ads and they’ve been online for a few years already. They have close relationships with different publishers and of course, they work with several big advertisers including some of the biggest ones around the globe. … [Read more...] about Make money with Contextual Ads – Infolinks Review
A study by none other than Google themselves showed that both teens and adults are using voice search more than once a day on their smartphones. And this was two years back! So how can you leverage this tremendous and irreversible shift in search behavior? For marketers, searchers are your customers, and your customers’ behavior is changing. For business owners, you need to adapt to these changing habits of your audience. So, here are a few steps to make sure you don’t get stranded in the land that time forgot… Know More about Voice Search Voice Search is a mixture of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Text-to-Speech (TTS). Simply put, it is used to recognize and process a user’s voice search request. After a user’s voice is recognized and parsed, the actual search query is entered into a huge database which intends to meet the query with the most relevant answer, which is then reverted to the user’s device. Finally, the device converts the … [Read more...] about Getting Ready for the Voice Search Revolution: A Roadmap
