The past few weeks have been pretty transformative for EVE Online, with the global communications blackout across null-security space revitalising roaming gang PvP in a way I personally haven’t seen for nearly a decade. What started as something of an experiment by CCP Games now seems to be blooming into a radical new design direction for the game that could seriously shake things up. We may be about to enter an unprecedented era of danger and conflict in EVE as developers work to inject a little chaos back into the sandbox. As we covered earlier this week, CCP Games CEO Hilmar Veigar Petursson made the case for a new design direction during recent appearance on community podcast Talking in Stations, where he noted that “Over time the chaos of EVE Online has been drained into order, the sand in the sandbox has turned into cement.” Hilmar suggested that EVE will be entering into a new “chaos era,” but what could that look like and how would it improve the … [Read more...] about EVE Evolved: What injecting chaos means for EVE Online

Forget sparkleponies and loot boxes: Sometimes what game studios try to monetize isn’t even remotely close to what we truly would like to buy. I don’t spend a lot of money on MMORPGs these days, not because I’m super-stingy and hate supporting developers, but because they rarely offer options that are worth my dollars. For example, I’m all for purchasing gameplay content. If the Secret World series actually started pushing out more frequent story packs but charged for them, I’d be OK with that. Or if World of Warcraft wanted to sell housing? Take my kids’ college tuition, please. And if any MMO wouldn’t mind selling the ability to switch classes at high levels, then I wouldn’t even think twice before entering my credit card info. Would would get you to throw money at your MMO? What would not only get you excited to purchase but also seem deserving of your cash? Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo … [Read more...] about The Daily Grind: What would get you to throw money at your MMO?
It behooves an intrepid explorer to understand the danger into which he rides. To prepare said intrepid explorers for the Murkmire DLC, the Elder Scrolls Online site has been updated with a brief look at some of the mysteries and potential dangers that may be encountered. Murkmire is the home of the Argonians, a location that has managed to repel invaders for centuries. To showcase the potential riches -- and the inherent danger -- the blog delves into Argonians and the way they "look at things" from a different worldview than the rest of Tamriel. Along the way, players will encounter a variety of Argonian tribes, "each representing an aspect of Argonian life and culture". Quests will provide players with opportunities to explore both ancient and modern Argonian life and its diversity. But no zone would be complete without other inhabitants. Players will find a number of new creatures that masquerade in beauty. Plantlife may seem lovely to the ey and deadly to the body. Players … [Read more...] about Elder Scrolls Online Previews ‘the Mysteries & Dangers of Murkmire’
The Lost Ark Online Closed Beta offered a ton of end-game content that kept users busy throughout the whole test. I spent my last day of Lost Ark Online trying to figure out the current gear progression in order to prepare for the next test. I wanted to share my own personal findings below and the various ways to gear up along with where to hunt for the best items. It's probably not as detailed as other sites since I can't fully read Korean, but I tried my best and I hope you find the info below useful. Field Boss vs World Boss During the 1st Closed Beta players weren't bound to farming a single monster, dungeon, or area for items. Instead, they can gear up and earn Legendary grade items through various activities such as World Boss Hunting, Guardian Raiding, Hidden Scroll Dungeons, Tower of Infinity, Cube Dungeon, and more. A lot of people have been asking me about the loot system. Everyone gets and sees their own loot whether it's from a treasure chest, monster, raid, boss, etc. You … [Read more...] about STEPARU News, Reviews, Previews & Information for Foreign Games Lost Ark Online End-game Content Preview and Progression
We often encounter a beautiful, fancy homepage with a nice-looking “Services” page and a nice-looking “Contact Me” page. But when you click on “About Me”, you find an awful and loosely written page. Of the many elements of a website, the “About Me” page is among the most important. Why should you have an awesome “About Me” page? 1. It defines the personality of the blog. An “About Me” page is the foundation of your site. This single page tells the reader about you — who you are, what you do, and what your blog is all about. It contains some important information about your website, service, or organization. This is a page where you tell the readers about your company, and the place where you describe your achievements and strong points. For example, a company’s “About Us” page should contain the following information: When the was the company founded. Where the company is located. The … [Read more...] about What Is The Importance Of An “About Me” Page For A Blog?
